Interesting points. So it's like trying to convince someone you saw a ghost and the group can choose to believe you or not. It's so fascinating because it's kept so secretive that im curious as to what is used to believe the person or not. I'm thinking if the person seems sane and is considered spiritually strong, they would usually believe the person is anointed.

How do JW's determine a person is anointed?
by thinker11 ini've always wondered about this.
when a person believes they made a spiritual connection with god and proclaims themselves as anointed, how do they determine whether this person is anointed or not.
does a group of elders look at the person's spiritual resume and check off the person's pioneer stats, bible knowledge, attendance, work ethic, personality, etc and then believe in the person if they have a good track record?

I've actually never talked to an anointed one but apparently the connection they felt is kept secret and they can't say what exactly happened because its between them and god. Any thoughts? -

Would you have done what Adam did?
by thinker11 inevery religious group know the story of adam & eve.
for me, i understood what they did was wrong but i never felt they were bad people and considering that they never murdered anyone and seemed to live normal lives after being kicked out, i found it hard to accept that they deserved to die forever and that we would be responsible for suffering for their mistakes.
i personally feel like i might have done the same thing adam did when eve offered him the fruit.

I personally feel like I might have done the same thing Adam did when Eve offered him the fruit. When she offered him the fruit, he probably knew she already ate the fruit and in his mind:
There were 2 choices that Adam was faced with in that moment:
1) Reject Eve’s fruit and live forever on a paradise earth without your soul mate that you grew to love and respect.
2) Take the risk and live another 900 or something years with the love of your life.
Personally, considering we should love our wives as we would as our own body, I find that choosing #1 might be the more noble thing to do. I feel that God should understand if a husband were to love his wife more than anything else in the world? I mean, you become one with your wife, do you not?
Anyways, just an interesting thought I wanted to share. Laters zz. Personally who knows, maybe Adam would have told the snake to go away and maybe that’s why he went to Eve first. I Wish there were more details, it would really help people not argue over the stories of the bible so much.

Thoughts
by thinker11 inas much as i want to believe in the bible and wish for a god that is watching over us and love us; i find it difficult to comprehend that a loving god will erase mankind with fireballs, earthquakes, and kill childrens, mothers, and fathers who refused to believe in the bible.
and i can’t help but to take their side in all these.
i mean: what has god really done to show that he is love and that he exists and is watching how we act.

Thanks for the inputs. I'm guessing many people here become atheists once they leave JW. Do any people here still believe in a God or Jesus?

And I can’t help but to take their side in all these. I mean: What has god really done to show that he is love and that he exists and is watching how we act. We really had no warning. We as Jehovah Witnesses can say we preach the end but why would another man listen to another man? What benefits is there? What are we really preaching? We have different articles that contain different issues that may affect individual humans but what proof or evidence do we have to show them that we are correct and that they should join us to avoid Armageddon. How can a god of love want to kill people with fireballs and earthquakes anyway? I can’t contemplate and accept this. Why so much pain? We tell others that the whole issue stems with god’s sovereignty when it was challenged by Satan through Adam and Eve. But what is the point of making humans go through all these? We are told God wants us to use our free will to choose him or we are going to die? That doesn’t leave us much choice regardless. It really is no different than letting humans continue to live in a paradise earth after Adam and Eve and killing humans off if they don’t obey. If anything, that would result in more survivors, less pain and headache. The amount of pain that human existence has experienced is unfathomable and to think that a god of love could watch all this and do nothing? What is this? I can only illustrate this as a child getting tortured and killed by a bad man while the parent of the child has all the power in the world to stop this but chooses to watch. Who would do this? Is that a loving parent? How is this any different than what humans are expereicning today? Honestly, when I think about this, I prefer and wish that there is no god and if there is, I really can’t say “god is love.” Or am I wrong? Is my human thinking not able to define love in a perfect sense? Where is the justice in all this? It’s not my fault I think this way. Do I deserve to die because I think like this?
