Demon-possessed inanimate objects
by Dubby infor years i heard stories that certain items in the home could be demon-possessed.
i was told to be careful of items bought at garage sales because we didn't know their origin, or who or what they were used for.. did we own a ouija board before becoming a witness?
could it be that items like these were creating misfortune?

S2-Christian joy. What a concept. It is that special connection with Jehovah God that I know there is a reason for my existance-for all of our being here. Everything becomes very clear and makes perfect sense. It is that one perfect moment
of clarity where you know you somehow "fit in" to the grand scheme of things.Rhw: Your final statement would make a great topic
for a new thread! -

Frenchy-I also have an overwhelming need to belong-somewhere or to something. This is perhaps
why I participate in this forum. It provides the comfort and security I enjoyed as part of the congregation but without the consequences of speaking what's on my mind. I find this to be an oasis-a place to relax among friends.[Thank you,Simon] -

S2,
I guess for me the identity robbing aspect of the WTBTS is a major issue.
This is a key issue with me also. I have learned to leave the hall at the hall-the only way I can manage to deal with it. This leading a double-life
for the sake of preserving family ties is beginning to take it's toll but for now it's my only option.Frenchy:
These men spent their lives forming
The scriptures emphasize the duty of assembling ourselves together and of living up to our privileges as God's people before
and tending to congregations. So what are we to do today?
the whole world, conducting meetings and working towards advancing his kingdom on earth. Is it possible to feel spiritual satisfaction when missing much of what a congregation would call the
joy of Christian living? I think it possible even though the Bible could prove me wrong. -

Correct me if I'm wrong but the meetings of the first Christians were not held in churches but in private homes or outdoors. I believe it was in Acts that we are given the first glimpse of a christian meeting indoors-in an upper room in Jerusalem. I think this was a model of true Christianity without all the burdens that come with belonging to an organization. I am in agreement with RedhorseWoman when she said:
Rather than establishing a relationship with God and Jesus, the members are urged to look to the "church" so that they can approach God properly.

Losing My Religion
Oh life is bigger
It's bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no, I've said too much
I set it up
*
That's me in the corner
That's me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
*
Every whisper
Of every waking hour-I'm
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up
*
Consider this
The hint of the century
Consider this the
Slip that brought me
To me knees-failed
What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around
Now I've said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try
*
But that was just a dream
That was just a dream
*
Try
Cry
Why try
That was just a dream
A dream-R.E.M. -

Dear Zep, Why did you delete your link? Why the censorship? It was unnecessary. Read my post again: I said, in my opinion! I didn't say for you to get rid of it. I also questioned my own
sensibility in posting the one I did, but allow people to make their own choice. No one made me captain of the appropriate humor police. Not everyone has the same taste and there is nothing wrong with me feeling free to criticize anything here. It's my turn to be surprised-never met an OZZIE who didn't stand his ground.
