Dis-fellowshipped For Not Going To The Kingdom Hall You Are Assigned Too
by new boy inmy parents started attending the glendora congregation in 1961. my mother had a strange feeling about the congregation.
there was something going on there that just didn’t feel right.
there was a huge exodus going on of people leaving this congregation’s kingdom hall too.

Shortly after my mother passed away, my father (in his 80's) was assigned to a new hall. He was no longer to go to the hall where all his friends were, friends he and mom had seen several times a week for many many years. He was instead assigned to a hall with 90% immigrants who dont speak English. He has no friends there, no one speaks to him but he "MUST' go where assigned. He does go in service with the friends from the old congregation though.
What a loving arrangement.

What JW habits do you still have?
by Exelder insince leaving the jw's after over 4 decades, i can see exactly what it is and hate everything it stands for.
however, there are still some jw habits and traits that i can't get rid of:.
1. i can't swear in general conversation (i'd have to be really angry).

I cannot commit to anything extracurricular - I cant commit to yoga, swimming, ball, curling or exercise classes or anything that takes away from my free time. Even when I have nothing to do. All those meetings per week and FS scarred me for life. Now my time is mine and i wont stand for anything or anyone telling me I have to do something (other than work).

Creation, evolution, ???
by Freedom rocks inwas on the bus today and got into a discussion somehow with the driver and ok be ood his work colleagues about whether there's life in other planets, evolution and creation.
the driver believes there must be other life out there, i agree with him that life can't be unique to this planet out of the billions that exist.
his colleague who i think might be a jw by his attitude and reasoning skills thinks we're the only planet with life on it and it was made perfect and exact purposely for humans.

As a child I asked my uber JW mother if there were such things as aliens. Her response was "well the bible doesn't say that God only created Earth and its inhabitants, so perhaps we are not alone. Who is to say."
Good reasoning I would say, too bad she stopped short of reasoning her way through the JW doctrine.

what's crazier is how he's saying to the congregation not to do research or look up bad news articles because they are all "fake news.
