there is a plethora of convention photos on my instagram this morning.

(a lot of my jw friends have forgotten i'm on their followers list) .

smiling faces standing next to convention posters with comments like 'nope, i'm not giving up.

The only thing I liked was volunteering. Got out of my seat and away from the boredom.

That and having the regular meetings cancelled the week following!

Even though I was baptized, I faded away and was never disciplined in any manner. Except along came "July 15, 1985 WT, the Governing Body applied the injunction in 2 John 10 (against antichrists) to those that disassociate themselves. No mention at all is made of the context of this passage (verse 7 tells us that these ones deny Christ as come in the flesh). Nevertheless, the penalty meant for true apostate teachers is now applied to ANYONE disassociating himself. The article is not specific as to whether this total shunning is to be carried out with relatives living in one's own home or not.

The Witnesses are then counseled not to even say a simple greeting to such ones, and to avoid having them in their houses at all."

My apostasy was of fading away and minding my own business, I was shunned by my family. At some point (my memory fades as well) the org once again reversed it's policy and my family came calling.

So I voted Yes.

Although the hurt and damage was already done, I did want to have a relationship with my family.

i cant believe what i'm hearing... actually, nothing surprises be about this cult anymore.. didn't they say to the judge in the arc that they dont discourage college?.

"We don't want to, or wont tell you what to do" but, going to college may be a reflection of your faith - or lack thereof..

We praise you for dropping out (the opposite is condemn you).

But who are we to say you shouldn't go - its your decision - but - you are a sinner if you do (you are imitating the worldly people by getting an education).

Isn't it nice how this shallow well of uneducated persons makes all the rules for everyone else?

Soon they wont want you to educate your children at all. Don't even let them read. They might find out what we are up to...trust us, just watch this video we have prepared for you, here have some koolaid its refreshing!

You could be right there, however she took an arrow through the neck and shoulder at les Tourelles; a stone in the helmet at Jargeau, in Paris she was wounded in the leg by a crossbow and after the truce with England ended she was yanked off her horse by an English archer. These certainly sound like actions of a warrior not just a leader - but either way she is certainly in the category of anything but 'just a woman who should know her place'.

I cant stand listening to Lett! he is nauseating! Worse yet is this:

What disgusting statements these are; I would be outraged if I had not heard them my whole life.

Women cannot lead (Cleopatra, Angela Merkel, Queen Elizabeth I), women cannot teach (Helen Keller, Mother Teresa), women cannot excel (Roberta Bondar, Amelia Earhart, Serena Williams), women cannot fight (Joan of Arc, Sojourner Truth).

You are right GB - women should not even try....they are hopeless. Lets not forget that most of these women I have named rose to their greatness, became outstanding in their fields etc - all while being oppressed by the likes of you gents.

And all you JW faithful women if you do come to realize you are smarter or better then these men determining your fate, don't you dare voice it or for that matter think about it, because that means you are crossing over your gender and are on the verge of homosexuality. What bunk!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disgusting the whole lot of them.

Got gas pump witnessed this morning.

so on our way to hospital today i see a car load of jehovah's pull up to a pump a row over.

i thought to myself, "not now!!

" we were running late to nicu and of course these dummy's take this moment to drive up to give us some good news.

Simply ask "When you learned of the fact that the society were signed members of the United Nations, how did you come to terms with it?"

They believed the lies that the society told in that their involvement "was to have access to research material available on health, ecological, and social problems at the United Nations library facilities." They quickly got out of their involvement in 2001, when The Guardian exposed their affiliation, saying "Still, the Criteria for Association of NGOs-at least in their latest version-contain language that we cannot subscribe to. When we realized this, we immediately withdrew our registration. We are grateful that this matter was brought to our attention".

did anybody else notice in the convention drama when they went to the memorial the speaker called jesus "our lord and savior"?

when have you ever heard jws use that phrase?
