Jw funerals

i recently posted that i found out my father is sick.

i have not found out any additional information from my family.

i’m kinda on an “as provided” basis with information.

I recently posted that I found out my father is sick. I have not found out any additional information from my family. I’m kinda on an “as provided” basis with information.

I had a thought that it is entirely possible for them to pull off a funeral without even telling me. I believe this is true because I personally have been involved with the process of specifically excluding someone from a funeral, with my family.

I got to thinking is this unique to my family? Or is excluding people from funerals (siblings, parents, children) common in this community?

Cart encounters this weekend.

on weekend mornings i like to take my dog for a long walk at a nearby lake.

recently there's been some cultists and a propaganda cart posted up along my walking path.

until today i've ignored them.

I do think they are lying corrupt hypocrites.. however I don’t feel that the ones I run into in a day to day basis are. They are lying yes but they are regurgitating the lies they have been told. They are truthful as far as they know.

im not talking about the governing body.. they are jerks.

I know what you mean about them invading your space.

i went to visit my mother in law (non jw) in the place she was living.. I saw the memorial flyers on the table, but I I didn’t say anything.. it did feel like an invasion!

she was the best though! She saw me spot them, got up from her puzzle, picked them all up, crushed them really good, and threw them away.

But we are not painters. We are delivered a direct message from painters, you can’t handle it, but not “inspired” because sometimes we paint outside of the lines.. but we only do what the painters tell us..

My father has cancer??

i am semi estranged from my jw family.

i am interested in a relationship but it never works.. they aren’t interested at all so we just leave it like that.. i received a text from my half-sister yesterday saying “your dad has cancer, it’s bad, i don’t know anything” i figured there was more to the story and if my dad needed me to know anything he would tell me.

or not.. i spoke with my mom this morning.

I had a dream last night about my dad..

i had a cat for a long time. He died a few years ago. My dad and this cat were always frenemies. Dad would make him stay outside. Cat would get dirty paw prints all over his car. Dad would makes the dogs chase the cat..

so my dream.. my cat is in heaven at the gate just weaving in and out of the spokes, he can do that since he’s a cat..

my dad comes up and knocks (like he would knock on a door for preaching) and my cat looks at him and says “look who wants in now huh.”

lol it was sweet and funny.. not scary or sad.

the august monthly announcements letter, among other things, says that if a memorial is midweek, there is to be no midweek meeting and if at a weekend, then no weekend meeting.

previously it was only no other meeting on the same day.

is this because so many congregations now share halls that scheduling it has become almost impossible?.
