  My Story

  i was a 3rd generation jw on my mom’s side and both of my parents were jws when i was born.

  me and my 3 siblings were raised a bit on the strict side.

  no sports, outside association, college, mandatory meeting attendance & service routine, etc.

  I find it interesting that once you were alone, or only with your children, your true thoughts come into focus. It’s difficult to even hear what you’re thinking with so much being pushed into your brain without even knowing it. Follow your instincts mama and your babies will be safe. I’m proud to have read this story. Always trust your primal instincts.

  The Hypocrisy Of Jehovah’s Witnesses

  celebrating holidays is wrong if you are a witness.

  but almost every jw that i know of has turkey on thanksgiving day.

  they say , every day is a day of thanksgiving.

  My mother made turkey on the Friday after thanksgiving every year.. because it was “on sale” and my father got pissed and carved it every time..

  Oh the irony!!!

  just wanted to share this funny thing.. so we have just been invited to a neighborhood xmas party to be held in the house of a lovely couple around the corner from us.. they bought the house a short time back from a jw who built it and lived there!.

  so, we get to enjoy one of our first xmas parties as a couple, in the former house of a jw!.

  now, that made me giggle.....

  I’m not a fan of the Kingdom Hall crashing. Luckily for apostates that have the balls to do it they usually are proud enough to film it one way or another. If an elder really did strike first it would be filmed. The elders do act physically aggressive in some cases. Nothing is done about it anyway. If you can’t beat them, well beat them.

  I enjoyed this movie a lot! I didn’t learn anything new about mr mercury from the movie, I found it to be a little historically off, the time line was jumbled up. The music was great though and I had no idea when watching it little Timmy from Jurassic park was in it!

  the above sentence was posted on another thread as part of a quote taken from jwfacts .

  l commented that this was a sweeping generalisation of the kind often made about all religions .

  Why do you find this particular statement offensive? I’m only asking, not trying to attack your feels. In the religions I am familiar with I find the statement to be true. I understand I do not have full understanding of ALL religions, however keeping in mind this is an ex jw forum I think it’s an accurate statement for this one.

  does this challenge a belief you hold in a way that inspires you to be defensive of the transparency?
