  hello, i've been lurking the board for quite sometime now and i have also read crisis of conscience.

  my hubby and i stopped attending the meetings since december and had our first christmas in 6 years.

  it was fun although the feelings of guilt are still within us.. we've been visited by the elders twice but we managed to keep them at bay.

  Mom and Silentlambs

  i spent the afternoon today with my elderly jw mother.

  my stepfather has alzheimer's disease, and is hospitalized now due to violent behavior.

  i brought her to my home for the afternoon, and since i am fresh back from the northwest bible conference, attended mostly by ex jw's, silentlambs, and a few terrific posters from this board, i couldn't hold back on a few issues.

  Wow! You just must be beaming with the fact that your mom has now finally LISTENED and HEARD you. I cannot help but put myself and my mom smack dab in this situation. Thank you for sharing TheHope Mulan. I now know what I too MUST do, without hesitation and posthaste!

  That's just about the time my mom made her FINAL DECISION. She had been studying since about, if I recall (ugh), 69ish...all I know is I was about nine/ tenish at the "TIME of DOOM". Hahaha, wonder if I ever saw ya at any assembly, ever. naaaa
