Where the shop name would be there was a large JW.ORG logo and a blue banner. Through the window was two arm chairs and a small table. It looked much like the waiting room for an accountants office.
It literally was a shop front. The most bizare hall ive ever seen. Does anyone here know this hall? Is it even a KH?
i know some would not think about retirement.
i had one brother who would pioneer as he could afford and when he paid off his home he was about to collect social security.
he made enough that his plan was to work two to three days a week and pioneer the rest of the week.
Well said simon.
My dad boughy his house in the late 70s his house cost £26,000 his annual salary back then was £22,000. The house is now worth £600,000+. A man in the same role as my father now earns £80,000 but the houses cost £400,000- £1,000,000.
The new generation of Jws will NOT be able to survive.
we need to save the planet so we have to stop using plastic bags!
in massachusetts, the new law will be going into effect soon.
if you go food shopping, you only cat get paper bags.. what is your opinion of the state banning plastic bags?
In the uk we have already taken steps with plastic. But in some cases its just for show.
An example that comes to mind.
The paper straws being used by mc donalds and a few other, the paper is of a certain variety that Cant actually be recycled. The reason they use it is because normal.paper turns to pulp with its intended use.
i found this question box in the july 1969 km.
question box (july 1969, p. 4).
• is it all right to buy a church building for use as a kingdom hall or, when a new kingdom hall is built, to sell the former hall for use as a church?
My very first hall ended becoming a center for people with mental health issues to meet abd receive therapy and engage in confidence building tasks. As well as arts crafts yoga etc.
It feels fitting...
imagine this.
someone has been involved in a car crash or shooting.
total strangers usually rush to the aid of the victims.
Very good point.
The person who was saved by the strangers will surely thank god for saving them!!

a police campaign to get the public to prepare a "grab-and-go" bag in case of emergencies has been both criticised and mocked by social media users.. a police scotland tweet urged people to pack essentials such as a first aid kit, radio, torch, and food and water.. its recommendations were part of an annual preparedness month, which is being promoted by local authorities and emergency services across the uk.. however, the police force has been accused of scaremongering.. the tweet read: "september is preparedness month.
emergencies can happen at any time and it's recommended to have a #grabbag ready containing essential items including medication, copies of important documents, food/water, torch, radio and other personal items.".

i was in full time service for six years including bethel.
once i got out of bethel, i figured i had already given them six of the best years of my life (ages 18-24) working as a slave/drone in their factory, so i rationalized that i had given them enough... so over the next 27 years i would say maybe $200 bucks is it.
i think their whole "voluntary contributions" idea is biting them in the ass, because over all jehovah's witnesses are a cheap group people with a few exceptions.
Never a penny.
Our hall had these little brown envelopes you where encouraged to take home and fill with your loose change.
My dad made me take one home and use it for.money from my paper round. I filled it. took it to the hall one day, told my dad i donated it and kept it hidden!
As a PIMI teen i refused to donate as i was a full time pioneer and despite these fabulous stories at conventions where people where blessed by 'Hova for service... that never happened to me so i was broke as broke can be.
what would it be?.
mine would be "rocket man" by elton john.
