Well I've got two babies that keep me pretty busy but if it wasn't for that.... i would definitely feel like this. What do i do with my time now that i don't need to go to mtgs or preaching or prepare for mtgs and preaching. Or have our family worship night? And for my husband especially since he had to constantly prepare parts every week and have elder mtgs and shepherding. Well thank god we don't because with these two babies it would have been crazy to do all that... i would not be very happy...in fact is I'd be very stressed and frustrated because just trying to get out of the house with these two is a mission. Honestly I don't know how JWs do it... No wonder they're always tired and stressed.

How to believe you deserve to relax
by rebel8 ini was brainwashed to believe you generally shouldn't relax much.. demons can enter you if you meditate or even relax your brain too much for one second.
always be on guard.. scriptures criticizing laziness were repeated often.
https://www.openbible.info/topics/laziness "be kind to yourself" and all that.. you need to strenuously exert yourself for jehoopla and you're worthless if you don't.. most forms of fun were extinguished.

Leaving the jws is a "lifestyle choice" according to a counsellor
by purrpurr inso i had my first appointment with a counsellor, of course i explained about being a born in jw, mentally leaving, the penalty of doing so and therefore the mental strain of pretending to be someone i'm not.
her response was that she couldn't help me with that because leaving a cult was a "lifestyle choice".
i tried to say to her that its a cult not a religion and how it brain washed me but no.

No one can understand what JWs and other similar cults are like. She doesn't understand and seems like she's unwilling to understand. Maybe you should see someone who specializes in this or just talk to us here and vent. 😁 -

Our first act of rebellion against the Watchtower.
by The Rebel inone day at art class, we were told we were to draw a naked woman.
i knew as a witness this would be wrong, but i awaited the lesson in anticipation, it would be the first time i had seen a naked woman.
i remember sitting at my esal waiting ten or fifteen minutes for her to appear.

My first act of rebellion was reading all the Harry Potter books. I read the first 3 in 6th grade and then stopped because my conscience aka the Watchtower through talks of the elders in the congregation said i shouldn't. Anyways i absolutely love them and am a bit obsessed!

I feel the same way. We are celebrating Christmas this year in hiding but i don't want to do this forver. But at the same time I know when my mom sees a Christmas tree in my house it will break her heart. she might just break down and cry Infront of me and i just keep imagining this. Such a bitter sweet time. I want to go all out next Christmas but i know when i do it will bring some sad, and probably nasty consequences...

Do pregnant sisters wear the tight, formfitting dresses like those women of "the world" do?
by ShirleyW injust wondering about that as i was watching the news tonight with lester holt, the weatherperson was dylan dryer i believe her name is, who is also on the today show, she was wearing what pregnant women have been wearing for more than ten years now which is the formfitting style of maternity dress.
just wondering if the sisters in the hall are doing the same thing, because back in the day the old elderettes and female pioneers would have an earful to say about a pregnant women who doesn't wear the appropriate maternity wear, showing off that big belly and so on.
btw, i don't care for that style on pregnant women at all, too revealing to me, i don't have kids but couldn't imagine showing off a 30lb belly like that, seems a bit inappropriate to me, imho i guess i should add here..

Well i didn't...and most who i know didn't. I wore those long to the floor loose dresses. My belly still showed quite a bit cuz i was HUGE! One sister i know who is a pioneer though took her maternity pics in a very tight and very short dress. Another had her maternity pics in lingerie and open sheer gown on top which exposed her belly. You can go ahead and take those pics but to put them in Facebook is a bit inappropriate for a jw. I remember when i was still in i was talking to other mommies about leggings during pregnancy...how it was the most comfortable thing to wear and we literally had to excuse ourselves for doing so. We even mentioned how Tony Morris said it was inappropriate!😂

Hi, I'm Sanchy's wife. Please read my post on how my husband woke me up here:
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5640149346025472/how-my-husband-helped-me-see-ttatt
It's so important to not criticize the organization or their teachings... Much easier said than done because i cannot follow my own advise but if you want to succeed in waking her up it's crucial because criticizing them is equivalent to criticizing Jehovah himself. Instead just go to her every once in a while with a "doubt" you have... hopefully she'll want to help you resolve it and therefore help you do research together...this worked for me...there was so much i didn't know and i began to have doubts about other sheep and great crowd being on earth (go to jwfacts.com), 144000 and little flock, 1914, this generation teaching (which has changed 4 times) etc. Get her with doctrine, find old articles and have her read it directly... don't just say certain book mentions this and that...its not the same as seeing the craziness with your own eyes. I woke up purely by researching and comparing bible with Watchtower articles..NO APOSTATE info. Good luck...be patient, be loving, and it just might pay off. Remember she is an indoctrinated robot who has been programmed to shut down whenever she hears anything against organization...if she get angry or emotional let it go and try again another day...i speak from experience 😉

Community Outside of a Religious Setting
by What Now? inthis is the one thing that i have struggled with since leaving the organization.
i recognize the need and value of belonging somewhere, being a part of something, showing up weekly to a community where me and my husband and children are loved and utilized and incorporated and cared for.
a place where are my kids qualities are nurtured and encouraged , and then reigned in and developed when needed.

Lol i totally understand where your coming from and i feel the same way... Don't really have any advise but remember you only miss it because it's what you always did....we don't need to be part of a community to feel whole... Just fine a few good friends to get together with and enjoy life!

Not too my son...
by The Rebel inwill i say " orlando, your hair is too long, and needs to be cut short" and never will i say " orlando, invites to birthday parties can't be accepted".
and i will buy my son books he wants to read, books that bring him happiness, and that he understands.
and by so doing, i hope he will acquire happy memories of his childhood, so that the sensitive and delicate, in him will be allowed to grow.

Just the other day I told my husband, who woke up first, that if it wasn't for our kids (and not just any kids, but these specific 2 kids we have ) he wouldn't have learned ttatt and therefore woken me up. My husband says he would always wonder about our older bog because he seems to have a rebel side and think that if he wasn't in the truth that he would die in Armageddon with him. Horrible the stuff indoctrinated ppl have to think about....anyways then when I was pregnant with our 2nd we had some complications which threatened his health but everything turned out ok. Well that's when my husband started questioning everything and wondering why God allows suffering etc, which led him to do alot of jw research and here we are. 😊 Our boys are babies, one is almost 2 and the other is 6 months. And they will have the life they want to live, and pursue whatever interests they want to pursue. They gave us the gift of freedom and we will be sooooooo happy to return the favor!😊
