Obviously I agree with all these comments. And don't be fooled to thinking is all coming from a place of hate toward the Jehovah's witnesses. It's just that we've all been there and have come to know what is really like. ...the hard way. Most of us are being shunned by our entire families just because we decided to leave the organization. ...that's how much loyalty are among the jw's. I'm sure when you go into the meetings they all smoother you with love, unless your sitting with the disfellowshipped sister, they can't even make eye contact with her. But generally, this is how newbies in the kingdom hall are treated. And if your studying the bible with them you might be thinking that its all good and reasonable. Don't. Go to jwfacts.com! I was born in this organization and never realized our doctrine was so off from what the bible says. And regarding the girl, yeah not a good idea. She might love you but her love and loyalty for "jehovah " are stronger. I'm sure she feels very torn right now but at the end of the day, she just another indoctrinated person who's life choices and concience revolve around whatever 7 men in New York have to say.

In love with a JW girl
by rastapau inneed advise.
i was in a relation with a jw girl for almost three years(im am not jw) and we are so inlove with each other until someone saw us from her congregation and she was disfellowed and that where the oddness happened.
her family and friends are not talking to her anymore, she wants me to stop seeing and talking to her anymore not until i became a baptized jw.

Got my JC cancelled... (at least for now)
by Sanchy inso my wife and i have been in the process of fading for a few months now as per my original post here.
about a week ago, i was browsing some ex-jw facebook groups when i saw a post that linked to the crisis of conscience book.
i said "f@(k it" and hit share on it.. a few hours later, i get a long text letter from my mom (who was a fb friend of mine) telling me the typical "good luck finding friends in the world" and how we have "nothing in common anymore"; basically, it was a 'farewell' text.

All or Nothing: hi I'm Sanchy's wife. Yes he's put alot of personal information here... He even has his profile pic so it would be easy for anyone to catch him.... But we were going to a Spanish congregation and trust me, those elders are so lost when it comes to these matters. They are oblivious to the fact that these forums even exist. Most of them don't even know how to use a computer... Sadly.
Anyways we are fading but our entire family is already treating us like we're disfellowshipped.... Especially now. The only one who treats us the same is my mom (she even talks to her brother who was disfellowshipped on a fornication and homosexuality charge). So I'm pretty sure she'll keep taking to her daughter and coming to see her grandkids. And if it weren't for her we'd probably disassociate soon anyways.... At this point we just want to live our lives because if our family doesn't want anything to do with us than what's the point in fading.
I'm still very proud of my husband for taking back some control by telling them they can't just have a JC without taking certain steps. Why give everything to them on a silver platter? He stood up for what was right and tomorrow he'll stand up for what he believes.... Because if he's going to go down, he's going down with dignity... Not grovelling. At the end of the day I know that is what will give him peace of mind. I understand the advise given here to do so is to save a relationship with family but I'm afraid that point had passed. Anyways we'll see what happens tomorrow.

My grandmother died in the kingdom hall about a decade ago. Before meeting started she was sitting down and literally just closed her eyes and fell sideways. My uncle carried her to the library room and my husband (boyfriend the time) gave her CPR with no success. Ambulance took her and meeting was canceled. The funny thing is that that day, for the first time ever, we saw a few apostates dressed in black in front of the kingdom hall, everyone was talking about it. I'm pretty sure they were scared away by all the commotion and we never saw them again..... -

Family
by Stella3 ini posted a month or two ago about my recently disfellowshipped sister who was feeling massive amounts of shame and doubt.
i moved out of my home state 5 years ago so she has come to visit me twice since she has been df'd and she loves it here.
i am a recovered alcoholic (5 years clean and sober) and spend my days with the most amazing non judgmental people i've ever met.

Totally agree with Crazyguy! But it's easier said than done. That is how my husband woke me up, by pointing out jw doctrine doesn't agree with bible. It's so hard though when I talk to relatives because I find myself talking bad about the org and that's the worst thing you can do. They will automatically shut down and think your possessed or something....anyways feel free to vent anytime. Many people here know all too well what your going through and it's nice to know your not alone, and some have it worse unfortunately... just think positively and don't let it get you down. Sending lots of loveš

5 Ways our Lives are Better Since We Left the Jehovah's Witnesses

1. Not having to worry about my babies becoming good spiritual jws, this worried me alot. I never even liked the idea of teaching them that certain cartoons and holidays r wrong. I dreaded when those days would come, "thank god" I woke up before they did! š
2. I can have goals that I actually WANT to have, not ones I'm pushed to want...even though my husband was a pioneerand we were in very good "spiritual stance"in the congregation, we never felt like pioneering was for us but we felt guilty because this was a natural goal every jw should want in life!
3. Not feeling guilty for every little thing or feeling like you're never good enough. ....you can always do more!
4. Appreciating the beauty of life a lot more and living in the moment! Enjoying truly every minute! Life's too short!
5. Knowing that I will give my kids the true best life ever and knowing that no matter WHAT they do, I will always love them and they will ALWAYS be in my life!

Is it me or were the experiences at the assemblies really contrived?
by keyser soze inmy favorite were the ones where they were reading a wt publication in the break room at work, and an inquisitive co-worker, thirsty for spiritual knowledge approaches them.
this leads to an informal witness, which eventually leads to bible study and baptism.. in all my years of working, i've never had anyone show the slightest bit of interest in what i was reading while i was on my break at work.
but as i said, maybe it's just me..

This actually happens all the time during mid week meetings. JWs are constantly required to tell uplifting positive stories about whatever method they were supposed to be working on in the preaching work that month. For the few who actually tried it or had a chance to try it on someone who would actually open the door, didn't mean they would get a positive outcome from it. I remember all the time the elders on the platform would have to literally beg for someone to raise their hand, then my poor husband feeling sorry for the guy (because he was an elder and knew how hard it could be) would raise his hand, and I knew some BS was about to come out lol. Everyone is forced to exaggerate the truth all the time, and even end up believing their own bs sometimes. It's all a bunch of Bull S&*#.....

You are so right about that, life isn't over til it's over. Enjoy every second of it, don't waste anymore time in it. Make your fade as quick as possible. Just to not be tied down to this organizations rules and requirements is freedom enough!
