It is double talk plain and simple.
They end it suggesting that in time you will consider all the above and not have a beard thereby letting your self be controlled by the GB's thinking.
Its sad and stupid, the Talban's requirements for having a beard is much like the GB deep set conclusion that they are a theatrical spectacle to the world, and they are so much looked upon, give me a break the sun does not rise and set to people thinking about JW's.

We apologize- for our delay- in responding to your letter letter of November 3, 1996. You ask about the propriety of a Christian wearing
a beard.

As you likely have realized, the publications of the Watch Tower Society have not endeavored to make specific rules to govern dress and grooming in the tens of thousands of
congregations earth wide. Grooming and clothing styles vary around the world. The Bible does not set forth specific directions on dress or grooming but does advise Christians to dress
modestly and to do things in such a way as not to offend others. (1 Corinthians 10:29, 31-33; 1 Timo-thy 2:9, 10) Thus, one would want to consider what is commonly ex-pected in one's
community of those who profess to reverence God or who teach the Bible to others.

A well-trimmed beard in itself would not preclude one from be-ing in the Theocratic Ministry School, sharing in the ministry, or being baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Nor should a Chris-tian be shunned simply for wearing a beard since this is not con-sidered as being disorderly in one's conduct. At the same time, the Society is not in a position to investigate the leanings and preferences of each of the tens of thousands of communities where in Jehovah's Witnesses carry on the all-important work of making known the Kingdom
good news. As Paul stated, we are "a theatrical spec-tacle to the world, and to angels, and to
men." So it appears that the early Christians were cognizant to some extent of the impression given to others by their appearance and comportment. As you can likely appreciate, they would not want anything to distract others from listening to the message.-i
Corinthians 4:9; 2 Corin-thians 4:2.

As you note in your letter, there are some areas of the world wherein a certain style of dress and grooming is viewed as accept-able for one who is teaching the Bible or "professing to
reverence God" in the community. (Compare 1 Timothy 2:10.) In other areas the same style might be quite objectionable or even offensive to a particular community or culture. While not condemning a person who chooses a certain style of dress and grooming that does not
con-flict with Bible principles, when it comes to one being considered for special privileges in the congregation, we feel an obligation

to leave this with the local body of elders, who are able to assess better how the matter is viewed locally.-Luke 12:48; also compare Acts 16:3 and 1 Corinthians 9:19-22.

At the same time, on matters of grooming, we do agree that this should be left to an individual's personal decision. While a certain style of grooming, such as wearing a beard, does not pre-vent a person from being valued as one of Jehovah's servants in the Christian
congregation, it may have some effect on the extent he can be used for additional privileges,depending on the local sen-timent. In time, a person's preferences may even change somewhat when considering all of the factors involved.

Evidence that the WTS Claims to be Inspired

much evidence has been provided to demonstrate that the wts is a false prophet even though jws will say anything to deny this unpleasant fact.

generally they act and teach explicitly that the gb speaks for god - that it is is god's sole channel of communication - but also claim that the gb is not inspired.

that is a distinction without a difference.. this has caused you know to be on the lookout for jw teachings "channeled" to him by the slave but which are without a bible basis.

So many people have this compulsion to be guided by others like puppets, the Witness's are not alone in this peculiar action, Jones town was an example that comes to my mind, there are many others, too many others it makes me sick.
They use their media magazines books ex-to do this gleaning of peoples minds with lies.
I am sure there is a God, and he sea's the Witness's for what they are blinded for the most part, and the leaders oh my I would hate to be them on Judgment Day.

The society does not forbid beards, they just don't approve of them. So, they baisically forbid beards, unless you seek approval. Which they won't give you approval to wear a beard, so keep shaving and putting first the Society.<<<<
That mentality makes me sick, Taliban mentality: "Put the Society first my ass, who are they but simply a religion and only a religion, if you all want to be little stupid sheep that go where ever and do what ever some stupid fool tells you to go well go live in the Mideast. Public apology from Ciro Aulicino re: UN/WT

no big deal, but ciro who was one of the ones who originally wanted to be an ngo decided to take it upon himself and publicy apologize to his congregation in nyc for getting the organization involved in this mess.... this was not approved by brooklyn bethel.. talk about a dope!

The UN involvement is typical example how people are programed to accept anything the Watch tower society says as coming from God. This my fine feathered friends is mind control, pure plain and simple, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, so wake up!

1952 WT - Official Policy on Anointed

this is a must read: the following is taken from the january 15, 1952 watchtower, pages 63 and 64. it is the most cmpassionate, kind, and detailed article i ever found on the topic of how jws know they are anointed.

the article even encourages jws to consider'partaking of the emblems' at the memorial.

it is the 'final article' that gave me the 'courage' to openly declare my hope as one of the anointed.

"How do NGOs and DPI cooperate?
The Department of Public Information and NGOs cooperate regularly. NGOs associated
with DPI disseminate information about the UN to their membership, thereby building
knowledge of and support for the Organization at the grassroots level.

Notice :" ..and support for the Organisation .." ( i.e. The United Nations, of course)

If you think it's not enough…take a look:

"In 1968, the Economic and Social Council, by Resolution 1297 (XLIV) of 27 May, called
on DPI to associate NGOs, bearing in mind the letter and spirit of its Resolution 1296
(XLIV) of 23 May 1968, which stated that an NGO "...shall undertake to support the
work of the United Nations and to promote knowledge of its principles and activities, in
accordance with its own aims and purposes and the nature and scope of its competence
and activities".

Again, "…shall undertake to support the work of the United Nations".

So every NGO has taken that kind of responsibility.

Association with DPI constitutes a commitment to that effect. Associated NGOs are expected to devote a portion of their information programmes to promoting knowledge of the United Nations' principles and activities. In addition, they are expected to keep the DPI/NGO Section abreast of their activities by regularly providing samples of their information materials relating to the work of the UN. These are also made available for perusal at the DPI/NGO Resource Centre.
Recognizing non-governmental organizations as important actors in the international arena as we enter the 21st Century, Secretary-General Kofi Annan remarked "..we must forge a fundamentally new partnership with civil society. We must reach for a new synthesis between private initiative and the public good, which encourages entrepreneurship and market approaches together with social and environmental responsibility." HEY did you look at the reason they are part of the UN nonpolitcal group

their intrest is [human rights] Why would they use the beast as they put it. What would happen if any JW got involed in human right via the UN?

I CAN HEAR IT NOW YOU ARE OUT OF HERE.

And how dare they be interested in human rights, when they denied basic rights (Civil rights in elders meeting for one,) to there members and shunned ones. It makes me sick.

More Bethelite Table Crumbs Please!

in a controversial post in a separate thread, janh makes an extremely good observation that a certain former gb member will likely carry many, many wts "top secrets" to his grave, for whatever reasons he does not wish to divulge such.. then, on this db, former bethelites constantly exchange posts where their word choice is "cloaked" so that many of us who were not insiders are left guessing at meaning, people, etc.

obviously, even individual members of this fraternity have unique experiences and insights.

if such info is not disseminated, it is lost if that person dies naturally or in an accident.. would you folks please post more elaborately so that the rest of us can benefit from your knowledge and experience.. the statement that motivated this post made a silent reference to the author of the happiness book.

Anointed Christians throughout 2,000 years

Well in all honesty I mean any human that is or has been faithful to the creator, in prayer and all the many facets of striving to please him in an imperfect way, that really only God in his infinite wisdom can fully understand and know their limitations. I do not put much trust in the idea of a faithful and discreet slave class anymore, it makes me sick to heart. The very thought of it reminds me of the hierarchy of what has become known as Jehovah's Witness's who make many statements that do not come true, and they are not a loving spokesman for God when it comes to dealing with other humans that are just like them" imperfect, and will be imperfect till God makes us perfect not until then,a God directed and inspired body of men as they say they are. So in answer to your question, faithful ones too are anyone whose heart is on bent knees sort to speak in the sight of God, and only he knows who fits that description, NO one else is able to speak for the creator or judge the heart of man.
