Maybe try this.
My understanding of John 1:1 from the Reasoning from the Scriptures book is this - because the definite article "the" is not present in front of God in the second instance in that verse then you don't capitalize "god" the second time. The defintie article "the" makes nouns proper nouns.
Well take a look at John 1:6 in the interlinear - the definite article "the" is not present there - but the NWT translation capitalizes it that time. What about John 1:12; 1:13; 3:2; 3:21; 5:44; 6:45; 8:54 and on and on and on - there are 271 times in the New Testament of the New World Translation that the definite article "the" is not in front of (theos) God yet in all of those 271 times the NWT capitalizes God - Why do you think that is?

by jerome inhello all... i came across this line of questioning many months on the inet so i decided that i would submit just this once to peer pressure and make a usefull contribution to the board.. here is the question... is jesus just "a god?".
many of the regular inet surfers would have come across this line of questioning before so if you have you could just sit back and relax and read the replys.. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>.
me: so is he a 'lesser true god' or a 'lesser false god?'.
