i enjoyed it very much.
they had a guest speaker from a university discussing personality types and how they relate to your spiritual journey.

some forum members have made much of the letter from the portuguese branch of the jehovahs witnesses, explaining why the watchtower affiliated with the united nations department of public information; they believe it contradicts a similar letter from britain.
in this post i rebut that argument.
I have been following the discussions between Joseph and Lionel and I have to say that when I try to read Joseph's reasoning my eyes start to glaze over because it's just word play. However Lionel has made his point repeatedly in my opinion.
To me it doesn't matter what the wts' reasoning is it's not in line with their teachings. If I were to join the Peace Corp. because I wanted to do humanitarian work, I guarantee you I would be df'd or at the least publicly reproved. It wouldn't matter what good motives I had, the org. would look at that as being a political move.

you must eat at least 5 portions of fruit or vegetables everyday to keep healthy, wealthy and wise.. forget all about the old english cooking methods of boiling everything to a pulp, thats about as outdated as rotting teeth and rickets.. this is how i cook vegetables.
i always serve at least 5 varieties from aubergines, mushrooms, red onions, courgettes, cauliflower, brocolli, new potato's, sprouts, carrots, green (bell) peppers, asparagus and french beans.. peel as required then chop them into one inch cubes.
pile the lot into a large bowl.

at first i found it very interesting and was amazed at the wealth of information that is in refute to the way jw's believe.
but then i looked up the scriptures quoted and found that some of them, most, do not support the sentence in which they are mentioned in.

I didn't want your post to go without a reply, especially because I did appreciate the point you were making. Twisting scriptures to oppose the wtbts is no better than twisting them in favor of them. I also appreciated you taking the time to check those scriptures. Being a homeschooling mom and a childcare provider leaves me little to no time to do research.

I'm confused as to why you would tell trisha to "shut the fuck up", when she was very politely answering a question that was asked of active JW's.
And how do you know that the people in this discussion are better than her. Do you know her personally?
If I had been asked the same question about a year ago, I probably would have answered the same as she did. People come to different realizations at different times in their life, but that doesn't mean they are not as researched, not as sincere....etc.
She believes what she believes because that is what she needs to believe at this point in her life. And when or if she decides that these beliefs are not for her, that is when her thinking will change. But only she will know when that time comes.
I just wish people on this board would understand that there are two sides to every coin, and at one point you used to be on that other side or you wouldn't be here.

tired from another long day i entered home and immediately knew something was wrong.
it was very quiet and the only light on was in the kitchen.
entering the room it was spotless, clean dishes and glasses shining in the dishrack of the sink.

well, it's sunday morning and i'm sitting here posting on this board when i hear 2 car doors slam.
i peek out the window and see 2 elders walking up to the door.
since i'm still in my jammies, i told my husband to go get the door while i snuck into the bedroom.
I'm also surprised that they gave you a km. I haven't gotten a km in a couple of years. And i've only recently stopped going to the meetings. But I did stop going out in service a couple of years ago and have only been going to the Sunday meetings. So I figured that you only got a km if you were active in service and attended the service meeting. Let us know if there is any "new" light. ;)

why do kids love wellies so much?.
we went to buy liam some new school shoes and clothes yesterday and both lads wanted to buy some wellies - liam got green tweenie ones and dylan got red thomas the tank engine ones.. they wore them when we got home and didn't take them off till bedtime.
this morning they are both walking round in their pyjamas and ... wellies.
One of my favorite pictures of my son was when he was about 4 yrs old. He has on his cowboy boots, cowboy hat and his superhero underwear standing out in the front yard. AAhh to be that free with fashion. :)
