I like The Boss very much. And also flamenco music. Well, I tend to say that I love nearly all sort of music but JW's tunes (you know what I mean)

Did you want to be a MS?
by JH indo you think that if a brother didn't become a ministerial servant in a reasonable amount of time, that he was considered weak?
did you want to be a ms or did you prefer not to have any responsibilities in the congregation?

Become a MS?
No, thanks.
It meant more speeches and more public talk, which actually I hated.
Anyway, it was damn easy to avoid qualifying for the post. Just kept my records very low (<8 hours per month).

Initial Reactions-Assisting Inactive Program
by twain30 ina tremendous push has been made to help the inactive in our cong.
there is now an official list assigned to each book-study conductor which they must follow up on.
to me the obvious intent is to jump start the inactive or to label them as bad apples.

In our congo it was usual procedure to spend your Sunday's two hours just chatting with the bros and stop a bystander just for the sake of justifying you actually were in the field service. As I reckon right now, it was just a nice way to stroll and strecht your legs on Sunday morning. And chatting up sisters. That was cool too.

Vivamus:
sorry to say that smoking was the second most stupid mistake you made in your life. (First was joining the JWs). I also took in smoking when I left the JWs but I realized that it was pretty silly to undermine your physical health just when your mental starts to improve little by little. So I quit smoking after 5 or 6 weeks... and very happy I did.
If you're anxious or nervous, just make some sports. It will help you out to cope with the stress.

How often do you get called on?
by In_between_days inthose who are not "blacklisted" by the wt, do you often get dubs at your door?
ive been at this address for almost a year and i have never had the pleasure of their witnessing work!
whats going on?

From my perspective, door-to-door visits have been steadily abandoned by street preaching. Well, actually Spain is a sunny country. I dunno if it's the same in rainy places

question on friendship
by Vivamus insomeone just recently told me his opinion on friendship.
and now i am wondering what your thoughts are.
what defines friendship?.

I couldn't help recalling Queen's famous song (Friends will be Friends). And in the case of the JWs, it should be added: unless you're kicked out.
Only after I left the JWs I realized that those calling themselves "my friends and brothers" were not such. A friend doesn't shun you because you changed your mind on some issues.
Bah. F**ck them all.

new point watchtower Sept. 20th
by desertflower inpage 16 under talking about the good samanitan, par.
15 (quote) something else is noteworthy about jesus' reference to the road that went "down from jerusalem to jericho".
according to the story, first a priest and then a levite were also traveling that road-although neither stopped to help the victim (luke 10: 31, 32 ) the priests served at the temple in jerusalem and the levites assisted them.

If they had walked down nowadays, they would have been stopped by an IDF blockade. Sorry, just kidding.

I have voted for the first time in my life!
by GermanXJW intoday is a historical day for me.
today i got up early but instead of going to the kh as i used to for years, i went to the election office to vote in the current election for the german bundestag.. for years, i had a political opinion and hoped that "my" representative wins.
this time i did my part to ensure this by voting.. it is a strange feeling: being part of this system.

Well done, GermanJW!.
I also voted by first time in my home country polls in 2000. When I was inside the .org, I always thought that politics should be left to personal conscience. I remember a stunning speech by an overseer shouting "We don't want his democracy!". Well, democracy is not perfect, but it's certainly waaay better than his theocracy.
