Leah Remini and Scientology show
by blownaway ini have been watching leah remini's show about scientology.
as she interviews people i see that i was right many years ago when i said this is a lot like the jws.
they do not go after people quite the same way but they sure are very similar in how they run their org.

Take away the actual belief ideas and the tactics are exactly the same with a bit more radical control in Scientology. Cults just suck. -

My wife and I were walking up to the original Walmart store in Bentonville. Its now a museum. Two women were sitting in the park next to a cart. My wife could see what was about to happen and walked away. LOL. I said to the women you have a lonely job. One smiled and said we talk to a lot of people. She then started in on the rant and I said I am what you would call an apostate. I was one of your kind for 30 years plus. I left when I found out it was all bull shit. The smiles turned to frowns and one walked away and the other said Oh and turned away. We were visiting my Brother in NWA to get away from Irma. I was in a bad mood not knowing if my home would be there when I got back. These simple minded idiots just set me off.

"Even if this wasn't the truth, I would still stay. This is the best life to live..."
by HereIgo ini was recently told this by a jw family member when trying to get through to them.
does this quote indicate that maybe such ones have considered that the jw's may not have the truth after all?
or is that just my wishful thinking?

My Grandfather now dead who was an elder used to say that. To me its a last line of defense when they know they have lost the argument and say well even if its not true its a great way to live. Souths the conscience.

Many will be saying that on their death bed. You can not help those who do not think they need help. Screw em.

This convention talk offended me
by Isambard Crater inhere are my notes from the r.c yesterday, the talk called "jehovah – the greatest example of endurance".
many of you will understand why i found it offensive.. jehovah has taken the hard option of choosing to endure:.
reproach to his holy name.

It also reminds me of a child's book. Jehovah, the little go who could.

That part about would you be here if the end came thirty years ago is BS. This if true would always be the case. There would always be some one who would not be here no matter when it would come. This is going along with the idea they are correct which they are patently not.

Anyone taken the Metropolitan Museum of Art JW tour, "The Woman and Her Offspring"?
by Cadellin inthese are apparently private tours by jws (pios who do it for a "contribution," i believe), who highlight the "historical evidence" for various bible events or prophecies.
there are a variety of themes, but i had a relative just take one on the woman and the seed/offspring (is "offspring" the new word for jws?).
she thought it was the most amazing thing since sliced bread but i was curious if anyone here has taken one and what their take is....

They are not worthy to have her as a grandchild. They can rot away with that stupid religion.
