Well Christian is a broad brush. Anyone who believes that Jesus is the ransom sacrifice and died for the sins of mankind would be technically a Christian. There are many different groups that are sects of Christianity. JW are one of these and so Christians. They interpret the teaching of the NT different than most main stream.

Anyone pissed at their parents for raising you in the cult?
by blownaway inmy mother was not the most emotionally stable person.
she was a follower and instilled in me the idea we were better than those worldly people.
its hard to go to school as a child and you can not be friends outside of school, you can not celebrate any holidays, and you are told all these people are going to die.

When I tell people who are not or do not know JWs. That if your son, daughter or other relative gets DFed for smoking, or not believing the old fucks in NY are gods mouth you can not talk to them. They all get wide eyed and say fuck that shit. If you have a brain at some point you have to question this crap. I did when I was young. My first questions were why are these supposed godly people all so fake and hypocritical. I was told the boiler plate crap about god uses imperfect people and they do the best they can. But this is a one of rule, it does not apply to any other religion.

Kids in my kingdom hall
by Akid48 ini think my last post i said i went to a new congregation,i'm going to just talk about some of the shit i have seen in my congregation.. there was a kid trying to talk to a adult next to him i think it was his dad,the kid just started taping him because he wanted to tell him something and the dad gets mad then boom the kid gets elbowed.i look around to see if anyone saw him do that to his kid and nope or they didn't want to say anything about it and just like wtf.. in my old congregation, the younger kids would do random stuff in the middle of the meeting to not get board.
when the mom or dad got mad i would see then get dragged to the back of the kingdom hall and hear them start crying.when i was still mentally in i just didnt think about it at all when it would happen but when i woke up im just like thats fucked up..

I remember a talk my elder Grandfather gave. He said the world talks about children's rights. Children have no rights. He was a douche nozzle of the first order. I did not talk to him his last several years and glad he is gone. I have seen so many kids who get smacked by parents who want the attention. Its Van Munchhausen by proxy.

I remember all the guilt I carried for not being good enough, not wanting to reach out and be a MS or elder. Not having any worldly friends and not liking many of the JWs and their BS. Wakemeup, good on you. Glad to see people stand up and tell parents where the door is. If my parents were still alive I would tell them as long as you are in the cult don't plan on seeing your grandkids.

Its no wonder many JWs don't look at education with anything but distaste. If I could see before the internet that something was not right, why could they not see? Was family pressure too high? One thing that helps today is that when you had a large part of the population living in close nit family's that all stayed in the same area it would have been hard to give that all up. Now people move away and can start a new life JWfree . I still can not give a complete pass to my parents. Parents should put their kids welfare first. The cult comes first and this should in and of itself be a huge red flag.

Nothing in life is stable as a Jehovah's Witness...
by silentbuddha inat least in hindsight it would appear so.
i remember as a small kid not making friends because ultimately they were going to die.
i never saved anything because money would be useless in the new world.

You said Nipple on the internet. That reminds me, one Thursday night after meeting we came home, I was about 10 yo. I turned on the TV and the channel was on PBS. My younger brother would watch the electric co. and other shows. When the CRT heated up it was a woman naked breast. My eyes flew open and I was glued to the set. It was a sketch from Monty Pythons Flying Circus. I have been a fan ever since.

Proof of God
by MrDantastic ini'm an atheist as i do not see any evidence for the existance of a god.
i encourage critical thinking in everyone and am ready to debate anyone on whether or not there is a god and what that god might be like.

blownaway - As I said you are being a pedant.
Pink unicorns don't exist. God doesn't exist. These two statements are equally certain.
'Proof' in the sense you are using it belongs only to mathematicians where is equates to tautology.
When asked whether they believe that pink unicorns exist nobody witters on about proving a negative and claims to be an agnostic about pink unicorns. So why is the god question any different?
fYou miss the point all together. Its not a matter of what one believes. I don't believe in the god of the bibles existence no more than I believe in a 1953 Cadillac orbiting Saturn, but I also can not prove this. No evidence for is not proof of non existence of. Black swan events are because when something is not possible sometimes it actually is. So you can not say I can prove when you can not. Tell me you went to Andromeda and checked under every rock and did not find god? And the rest of the universe? No, So all you really have is the fact like Me that I have seen not evidence that there is a god. I can not say there is not some kind of supreme being or Aliens beings or flying spaghetti monster, I have seen nothing to show me they exist but at the same time I have no proof that some where in the universe they do. And neither do you. You are confusing evidence of absence with absence of evidence.

cofty, you can not prove anything does not exist. Reasonable doubt is not proof. To prove god does not exist in your garage may be provable, To prove god any god or unicorn does not universally exist is not possible. Not for you or any human that is. To prove god does not universally exist is to prove beyond all possible doubt. You can not. So your idea of proof takes some faith. You can not prove beyond all doubt that any god or any unicorn does not exist somewhere in the universe. Just deal with it.

Thanks for the link OC. First thing that came to my mind was who was Drei Linden film and what connections do they have. Lots of smoke here and some fire. The JWs are desperate to find vindication and support even if they have to manufacture it.
