  The bridge

  so my father, who is an active jehovah’s witness, told me yesterday of an experience currently doing its rounds amongst the witnesses in relation to cart witnessing.

  there is a bridge called ‘the bridge’ which is a well known place for people committing suicide.

  apparently the jws have been setting up there literature carts there for a while now and ever since they have there has been no more suicide attempts from the bridge.

  it's that time of year again when i can get back on the fields with the metal detector looking for ancient stuff.

  the first field to be harvested was full of peas - ideal as it leaves no stubble and it's a two minute walk from my house.

  it has given up two coins in two visits this week.. the first one is a cut-half silver penny from the reign of henry ii.

  I have had a metal detector for many years. Don't use is like I would like to, mostly found ring pulls. Love the Britcom Detectorists. I was walking in a creek that was near an old Confederate civil war era saw mill and found this in the creek while looking for arrow heards. A nice horse shoe and pottery shard.

  I can remember a woman Theresa Stockwell from Kentucky who is dead now I believe, saying many years ago she was a feminist. I could not stop from biting my tongue off. I waned to yell "and you are a JW? WTF woman you are in one of the most women repressive cults in the world. "

  a pastor lovingly approaches a jw.

  granted the jw is not that that willing, knowledgeable or eloquent.

  but he does succeed in getting her to open up.

  The first video was a complete waste of time IMO. The JWs have set up an almost impenetrable wall for the cult members. They will not listen to anything you say that are real questions or arguments.
