As I read this post it was stunning to say the least. The part I noticed was they never actually answered the questions you asked other than calling me a liar. I would be very glad to call the hotline and see how it works. I have recently spoken to Wt Public Information and they seemed to agree with my position, but then again that is a different world from legal. This was totally unexpected as I in no way coherced Danni and her friend to talk with the elders. Yet I like it and could see benefit in others doing the same to let locals see this will not be hidden.

It was interesting also to see the reference to the "apostate" conspiricy angle. The fear mongering of some huge secret organization that is out to destroy all witnesses. This is just a complete fabrication. Then again, what else would you expect those who protect pedophiles to do?

i wish to make a comment on something that disturbs me deeply to the point i cannot let it pass or be ignored.

a little over a year ago i resigned as an elder to protest wt policy and how it hurt children.

the impetus that brought me to that conclusion was a child i knew personally that was in danger.

I took your advice and reviewed your post and as near as I can tell this is what you were requesting when you said:

I do not find my comments to be a "complaint" they were meant to defend a person who was being bullied for no good reason.

This appears to be the crux of your request and I will be glad to answer. I always am very clear with victims about going public with their story, I often encourage them to think about it few days as it is a personal decision about a very personal subject. I to point out the benefit of them lending their voice to the other silentlambs with the goal of protecting children. I personally believe learning to speak out about what happened can be another step in the healing process but I would never pressure or try to force a person to take that step. The last few victims I have talked to I have suggested going out to this forum, some have never sent their stories in but it helps them to see others who are going through various problems and a lot of information to read on various levels. Each and every person I have talked to about the board is encouraged to be careful as the board is like the wild wild west and you never know how people will respond to you. It is generally better to just read the posts for a while and if you do decide to register be sure and remain anonyomous as it is a protection. If things get rough you can just leave and no one knows who you are. I do not know what more I can say, do you have any suggestions?

I agree emotions are not that simple and I do not have control of the decisions a victim may make when they come to the board. Whatever they decide I believe we should support them the best way we can. When an individual like MA makes the decision to discredit, bully and hurt a person who is trying to stand up for what is right I cannot stand back and look the other way. I have learned from this and will never post another victims story on this website. I also will never encourage another victim to come to this board as I some ways it is starting to be just another Kingdom Hall where the backstabbing critics run the show and follow selfserving agendas. Yet I would like to think if ever MA or anyone else makes the poor decision to assasinate a child molestation victim with words that people like you and others will speak up and say it is not acceptable, even as they did on the original thread.

Unclebruce, I encourage you to go back and read the post that started this thread. Your accusation of calling the victims thin skinned is an unfair portrayal. I wish a little of all this symapathy for MA who acted like a complete jerk could be divided and a part of it given to the victim. I have no sympathy for MA, he refuses to apologize for hurting someone who reached out for understanding, he called them a liar, belittled them and made no effort whatsoever to have any compassion. You guys wish to offer him sympathy? How about Charles Mansen is he just a misunderstood beatle lover?

When you use your freedom of speech to hurt poeple without remorse you diserve any sanction that gets your attention and lets you know that type of behavior is unacceptable. What MA did is and will always be unacceptable, if this board comes to think otherwise then it will have sunk to another level and it loses being a place for healing.

This site is really nothing but a slur on Jehovah's Witnesses. The truth is that any religious organization can be infiltrated by pedophiles. But to give the impression that the Witnesses are overrun with pedophiles is slanderous and misleading.

If someone has been the victim of a pedophile, then he is free to go to the police. The Society's official documents, included on this site show that the Elders MUST go to the police if the law requires it. If the law doesn't require it, then the problem is with the law, not with the elders. Why criticize the elders for not going to the police if the victim himself (or his family) don't want to go?

Also conveniently overlooked is the fact that Jehovah's Witnesses are the ONLY religion that has ever disfellowshipped child molesters and other immoral persons. Show me another church that does that!

I think it's disgusting that your site uses the plight of defenseless children as part of a polemic which is really based on theological differences with the Jehovah's Witnesses religion. Do you really care about the children, or do you care about promoting your own agenda?

In short, what this site is about is simply associating the word "pedophilia" to Jehovah's Witnesses in order to try to discredit our faith in the eyes of others. Long on rhetoric, short on facts.

Thanks Simon for taking action in behalf of the "survivors" they deserve our respect, compassion, honor, and appreciation. It reminds me of one time when I was in grade school I saw a smaller child being picked on by two larger children. At the time I did nothing and felt so bad about it I decided I would never allow that to happen again. You learn from the mistakes you make and then do better. No one should be allowed to bully someone weak on the playground of this forum and we just stand back and watch. I hope this board will learn from this situation and never allow bullies like MA to hurt those who are trying to stand up for children.

It is true we should allow freedom to give much latitude when we express ourselves, yet freedom always has limits. When we use that freedom to hurt innocent people then we have to be stopped by those who see the injustice freedom is being used for. MA misused his freedom he paid the price, I hope he learns from this, apologizes to nute and learns a lesson about picking on people smaller than him.
If he chooses to remain a bully then he makes himself an enemy of all "survivors," his shenanigans will not be tolerated.
