I've been following this discussion thread from the outset. So here's a possible solution;
Why not agree to disagree and move on !
all us creationists try to do is offer true evidence that the one and only god is out there watching and looking down on us.
we present that certain scientists know the truth about god and that he is everything that we see from trees, life, weather, the air we breath, and even the most simple molecules.
but of course you atheists reject it because it is your nature to not be humble and see god because you want to rule your own life.

what was the most fun ride you've ever had?.
my personal favorite was my ducati paso 750. it may have been before a few of your times, but it was an italian rocket that totally blew away anything from japan.. .
jk.
I will share an experience with you.
Our only mode of transport that my GF (now wife) and I had at the time was my Kawasaki KZ550. Some nosey sister ratted us out to the elders because we rode the bike. So we decided that we weren't going to sit back and take this BS and went to an elder to defend our case. Looking back, it was ridiculous as we did nothing wrong. Anyway I digress. So we met with this elder, who in our estimate was one of the more reasonable one's. During the conversation I managed to sum-up a bit of backbone and asked the elder; Where do we put the chaperone? - the handlebars, fuel tank or the tail light? He looked at me with a stone face for a moment (believe me, I was 'bricking it' as I thought I went a bit too far - my GF looked at me aghast) then to his credit, the elder burst out laughing. Phew! He then said that if anyone else complains about us riding the bike we should come straight to him.
We never heard a thing more about it.. Ha ha.

I used to ride a motorcycle many years ago - back in the early 80's.
I had a Kawasaki KZ550. That bike was a beast. A brother in another congo had a business servicing, repairing and selling bikes. I always had my bike serviced at his business. The one time he put 'racing' sparkplugs in my bike - scary as hell.
Good times. I miss them.
PS; When I accelerated the bike, my GF / now my wife, squeezed tighter - 'evil grin'.
the biggest regret i have is of 'shunning' persons who were disfellowshipped and for 'marking' ones deemed as bad association.. there's no way i can approach these people to ask them for forgiveness as i've emigrated to another country however, by this post i'd like it to be known..
Thanks for commenting, folks.
I share a number of your regrets however, as Landy mentioned, it's the wasted years. Unfortunately there's no way of getting them back - water under the bridge now.

Welcome to the forum.
i'm reading an excellent book about defectors from the mormon church called differing visions: dissenters in mormon history.
through a collection of essays from many academic authors it looks at the life stories of dissenters and reasons for departure, as well as analysing the impact of their dissent on the church itself.
fascinating stuff and makes me wish there was a similar volume looking at the key dissenters from jws/watchtower and the impact they had.
I'm a newbie to this site and therefore coming in late on this topic;
The following people use Youtube as a platform to expose the WT's flawed policies.
- Marc & Cora Latham
- Kim Mikey
- Marcus Vaughan (Ex- Wallkill Bethelite) - some of his videos are a real eye opener,
No doubt there are others who are on Youtube.
if this isn't heartrending then i don't know what is !.

Hi Smiddy, thanks for your comment. I was on Youtube and came across this video and have no way of verifying its authenticity. I took it at face value and, probably naively, accepted it as fact.
If the video is true then it is a sad state of affairs. If it is a fabrication then I apologise to all.
Lesson for me; not to post without having some form of factual back-up.
