Coming in late on this;
Strip away the Org and you'll find that they are good people just like all of us here on this forum.
It's really saddening to see them waste away their lives for an organisation that is most probably the biggest fraud in history. Not to mention that the hierarchy think nothing of the R&F regardless of their status in the congregations.
I'm not knocking the musicians and singers in this video however, the lyrics and tune is down right embarrassing.

Bought My First Christmas Tree Last Night
by pale.emperor inlast year i didn't bother with christmas as it still felt like a "nothing" day to me (thanks watchtower!).
this is the 2nd christmas since waking up and leaving the cult and i've finally bought my first christmas tree:).
i have no idea what to do with it though.

Enjoy the moment decorating your xmas tree with your daughter. Don't forget to take photographs of her putting her personal touch on the tree. In years to come you and her will reminisce the event. These will be precious memories.

Happy Thanksgiving 2017
by EverApostate inonce upon a time, as a jw, i was afraid to buy turkey during thanksgiving time.
while attending the thursday night ministry school meeting (on thanksgiving day), i was cautious not to mention the word thanksgiving, for fear of bringing reproach to bigj.. now, free at last, my happy thanksgiving wishes to everyone who celebrate this holiday..

Convention “Highlights” - bwhahaha!

(boy, they weren’t kidding when they spoke about being long-suffering and having endurance!).
but what were some of your convention highlights, or lowlights, from back in the day?.

Years ago when I attended the district conventions at a university stadium in South Africa (with the sun bearing down upon us - it was hot as hell) the vast majority of the attendees sat in the grandstands sweltering in the heat or got soaked in the rain. A minority of us used to sit behind the mound under the trees - we erected gazebo's and sat comfortably in our camping chairs with the cooler boxes containing our lunch and a couple of sneaky drinks - lol. We couldn't see the stage however the sound dept set up speakers. I used the opportunity to catch up on some sleep.

by Tallon inthis is just a general query, and am hoping someone can clarify.. a lot of web forums usually list the usernames of the admins & moderators.
i have not seen listed, unless someone can show me otherwise, the admins & moderators of this web forum.. from what i can gather, simon is the owner & admin of this web forum.
scully has just locked a discussion thread - so i'm guessing that s/he is either an admin or moderator.. who are the admins & moderators ?.
