  Dutch government look for possibility to revoke JW charity status (=tax breaks) after JW refuse independent investigation re. abuse

  well, the title says it all.

  the dutch government will look into the possibility to revoke the charity status of jw after they refused to cooperate in the child abuse scandal.. the government urged the jw to start an independent investigation into the jw child abuse issues, and after some stalling the jw flatout refused.

  unfortunately the government can't really force them.. the chance that the charity status is actually revoked is very small as there appears to be no legal basis to do so, but right now the government and house of representatives are very annoyed with jw.. and in the meantime the da will continue their investigation based on the victims officially reporting abuse to the police..

  Due to their track history being exposed, I say that the WTBTS should lose their 'charity' status in every country where they are registered as such.

  I can't understand why. I posted the link to the 'unblocked version' - by Darkspliver - which can be viewed on exjw reddit however, it doesn't load on this forum. Maybe someone with better IT Skills can explain the reason behind this.

  Coming in late on this thread;

  I watched the wedding and thoroughly enjoyed it. All the misery and suffering will continue, but for a couple of hours there was joy and happiness. I wouldn't say I'm a full on 'royalist' however, for the most part they do a lot of good work (supporting many good causes and charities), in particular William, Harry, Catherine and now Meghan joining them.

  From the little I've read about Meghan she appears to be a self made woman; confident in herself and her abilities - she has also been involved with humanitarian work. Having a strong woman supporting Harry can only be a good thing. I thought her dress was awesome - there's elegance in simplicity.

  I wish Harry and Meghan a lasting and happy marriage.

  in my psychology studies we've been examining the use of "labels" and how they influence peoples behaviour.

  i sometimes wonder if the gb or their helpers know exactly what they're doing when it comes to psychological manipulation.. it's been observed that by labeling someone or something it changes your entire perception of that person or thing.

  it colours it entirely, quite unfairly in some cases.

  i haven’t posted for quite a while as i needed a break – although i have been lurking.. can anyone confirm if the wtbts give assistance to someone who has been involved in an incident whilst working at bethel and, as a result, must leave?.

  the reason i’m asking is that, back in the 80’s, i knew a sister who was in bethel service.

  she was assigned to the cleaning department.

  The reason I’m asking is that, back in the 80’s, I knew a sister who was in bethel service. She was assigned to the cleaning department. Because of working with cleaning chemicals, she contracted a severe form of eczema. She left bethel service because of this. It was so bad and painful that she literally couldn’t wear certain clothing and, at night, could only sleep with a sheet to cover her.

  I stand under correction, and to my knowledge, the WTBTS offered no after care assistance to her once she left bethel service.

  Is this the WTBTS policy? If someone is required to leave bethel service due to injury following an incident at work that they are on their own with regard to medical care and expenses incurred?
