I would of thought that we would have had more guitar enthusiasts on here.- Quarterback
I echo Quarterback's query; Where are all the guitar enthusiasts? I'll go one further; Where are all the other musicians?
one of my interests is music and i play an acoustic guitar.. i wrote a poem about my guitar and thought i'd share it with you.
my poem doesn't match up to some of compound complex's work however, i'd really appreciate any feedback you can give.. my guitar my friend.
reaching for my old companion.

My Guitar My friend
Reaching for my old companion
Alone in the corner on its stand
Sunlight mirrored off the scratch plate
It’s a great accompaniment for any band
Fingers fret the strings with ease
Bringing life to the melody in my head
Music drifting through the air
On its journey with nothing unsaid
Folk, Rock, Rhythm and Blues
Matters not which genre I play
Picking softly or strumming aloud
The response is immediate, no delay
Crafted from the finest timber
Could it be a thoroughbred?
It’s good to call this wooden marvel
My guitar, My friend
i was thinking about this because of the constant reminders we get in posts that we inactive non attenders have to be careful what we say to jw's, and what we do that they may learn about etc, if we don't wish to be before a j.c. the power they have is limited by what we give them.
now, i do not wish to be declared df'd of da'd, it would kill my old mum i think.. but i refuse to live my life looking over my shoulder, that, in my opinion, is giving them too much power.. i openly vote, i openly donate blood, i enjoy the odd cigar etc etc.. how much power do you allow them to have over you ?.
They have no power over me at all. No witnesses call at my door and I do not seek their company.
PS; I'm neither disfellowshipped or disassociated. I just faded away.
most people will consider the noblood doctrine as being something that affects only the jws involved and they rarely consider the medical professionals who have to deal with them and the tremendous emotional and mental toll the medical professionals are forced to deal with when confronting senseless death.. the following is an excerpt from a medical doctor's blog: .
i do not worry much about being dead although the process of getting there gives me pause.
i have witnessed a few unpleasant deaths and i hope to never see the grim reaper coming my way.. one of the more awful and pointless deaths occurred early in my career.
Excellent; thanks for posting.
It must be extremely hard on these Doctors' to treat patients with the utmost care in accordance with their Hippocratic Oath, when their 'hands are tied' by these silly doctrines.
Here is the link to the Hippocratic Oath which Doctors try their utmost to uphold.

Ref - Personnel Needs letter – BRA August 17, 2016
‘As a follow-up to our letter dated July 12, 2016, we would now like to ask for your assistance in identifying personnel that we could use in various regions of the Britain field.’ …. (Italics & Bold mine)
Note that it says ‘USE’; - not approach, or ask, for their help – but USE
A bit presumptuous, don't you think?
and yet another sale of watchtower property.... http://www.ibj.com/articles/59973-suburban-mega-church-expanding-into-downtown-with-big-purchase.
suburban megachurch expanding into downtown with big purchasea historic church building at the corner of 12th and delaware streets has been purchased by a large congregation expanding into the downtown area.. traders point christian church in whitestown is spending $2 million to renovate the 35,300-square-foot structure and should have it ready for worship early next year, rev.
james stanley said.. the neoclassical, limestone building has been used as a place of worship since it was built in 1912 and had been owned by the jehovah’s witnesses since 1978.. the location at 1201 n. delaware st., across from the benjamin harrison presidential site, will be the third for traders point.
'So....let me get this straight. I can not do any work or business with or on a church. I can not even attend a church for a wedding or funeral BUT Watchtower can sell a building to a church? Boy...that is the height of hypocrisy'! - ToesUp.
ToesUp has just about summed it up.
i'm in my mid 40's and recently started bible study and going to meetings.
my family is really having a hard time with this.
my kids that are over 18 are no longer speaking to me and won't have anything to do with me.
My advice; Get out of the Org.
hi new to forum and first post!
i have been reading posts on and off for years.
still fighting my "doubts" and struggling internally, my family is active and the wife knows nothing of my late night website reads here.
Welcome Inabunker. Glad you joined us and congratulations on your first post on this site.
I know exactly how you feel. My fade has been over a number of years and have been totally inactive for 3 years. It took a lot of courage for me to visit sites such as this one, let alone post comments !
the religion of the educated classes revisited: new religions, the nonreligious, and educational levels - james r. lewis .
the measure lewis uses to compare religious groups is what percentage of members of the respective religions have graduated from college.
the findings are similar to the results of the pew survey in the united states.
This was one of my biggest frustrations; the Org frowning upon its members undertaking higher education.
The number of members who were academically gifted and who could have gone on to highly successful careers literally saw their opportunities vanish before their eyes. The number of families currently trying to eke out a living is soul destroying too.
My marks at school were not good enough to allow me to study at a University however, my father encouraged me to do a trade. I undertook an electro-mechanical engineering trade (4 year indentured apprenticeship) and studied at a technical college. This has enabled me to lead a good lifestyle.
