The reason for this WT is because about a year ago they made everyone pledge what they could give them monthly and now they are calling in these pledges with a guilt trip ... Brokeback Watchtower

Talk to my Dad about beards.
by LovingLifeNow inso i spoke to my elder dad the other day, and he asked if i still am sporting a beard.
i said yes, then i said, "i thought the society said its ok to have a neat trimmed beard now?
" he said "no, no, no..if you read the article , it says in countries where it is accepted" so my response was "ummm, its pretty accepted here in america"..which he says "it reflects your spirituality" "if another wittness saw you, they would know you are weak"...i was like, "ok, i don't get it, and i follow christ/god, not men..." then he said in his hall" if a brother came in with a beard , he would not have privelages" then i just gave up, and tried to change the subject..ugggggggggg if these people would just listen to themselves , they would see the sillyness of there teachings...

Coming in late on this discussion however, IMO the Org is delusional.
What difference does it make where hair is located on the human body? Whether it’s on a person’s head, face, chest, arms, armpits, legs or pubic hair; It is hair!
Who is the Org, even at local level - the elders, to determine where hair is acceptable and not? Does not the Org in their own publications depict biblical adult male characters having beards!
I cannot for the life of me understand what the issue is.

Slightly different take on this discussion;
Over the years, there were people in the congregations I attended that were seldom called upon to give an answer during the meetings - to this day I still don't know why.
Anyway, when these individuals raised their hand, I used to walk toward where they were sitting, hinting to give this person a chance to answer. On numerous occasions it worked.

spent countless hours listening to his music... i'm sure some here will appreciate his contribution.
i idolised matt cameron throughout my teenage years, cornell's distinct voice smothers some of my favourite music..... sad news indeed.

Never give up!
by stuckinarut2 ini just wanted to share a quick thread to remind us all to never give up hope that our loved ones who are still mentally trapped in the org may one day wake up.. when i first starting waking up i never thought my wife would also awake.
i have always loved and respected her ability to think and reason, but i assumed that the hold of the organisation would always have its grip on her.. but slowly, and with patience, i shared some things i had learned, and the results have been amazing!.
my dear wife, who posts here under the name "unstuck" is so fully awake along with me.
