a few elders i know said they hoped the wts would release a "new" revelation book to be studied during 2014. they said the jws need to be spiritually encourage at the "closeness" of the end and studying a "new" revelation book for 2014 might help shape up the flock of inactive, faders, disfellowship/disassociated jws to coming back.

Not going to happen. Everyone hates that book. Nobody understands it. It makes people think too much, and the recent changes would have to be reflected in there which might be a third rail.

Just a quick observation. There are at least 10 links shared with you from several news organizations. It was even a front page story for MSNBC. Your friend cannot be quite as in tune as she thinks.
I have had some success in responding to people blaming things on the demons with the following....
I think you are giving the demons too much credit. They are studying me in particular and keeping a log of my experiences and hanging around specifically me to somehow manuver a news organization to write an article that will make its way to me, and then I see it? I don't think that is probable. It fact it almost sounds narrcisistic and terrifying. No i think some guys did something bad, there was a big court case, and because it was record breaking, articles were written.
Honestly, its hilarious that the demons are so concerned with you that they float you an article, and they have that kind of control, but the ridiculous act that spawned the article, the demons had nothing to do with? Wouldn't that be more concerning. Ugh.

You are 15 and a minor. Living under your parents roof means you need to respect them and honor them. You do not, however, have to feel forced into getting baptized, and I would certainly hold off on anything that direction. You may however be asked to continue to go to meetings, and that is probably something you will need to do with your family. I would say you need to relax, do your research, and ask your parents questions in order to get them to think for themselves.
Try to remember them, and relax a little. You are very young and there is alot fo time left for you to decide a plethora of things.

here's what i scavenged from the most notable watchtower i've ever read.
it may be far more significant than many people realise!.
and before anyone whinges that one or two are 'old light', the fact remains that all of them are rejecting what was once 'inspired truth' from the revered fds, and disagreeing with any one of these (now current) falsehoods would have resulted in your "stoning to death" and shunning by all whom you loved.
I am seriously thinking about reading this nonsense and "understanding" it, then going to my first couple of meetings in what will then be a year.
It just seems entertaining.
i find it interesting that the 7/15 watchtower will be studied from september 2-29th and then the annual meeting will be exactly one week after.

Guys they aren't going to change anything in October. Its DC for the September study which nobody will really even understand.
I don't know if they have underestimated how big of a change this is and how it will affect their flock, or if we ave overestimated it, and it won't do much at all. I am really curious. I think the inclusion of more for the annual meeting is just going to be something that makes people "feel good" and included, after they may feel confused an alienated from more of that blinding light that is searing their mental retinas.
i work with the school overseer so he'll be with me all day before the meeting...so being 'sick' isn't an option.
this really isn't like me to weasel my way out of something....but i've been ridiculously depressed lately and honestly i just don't have it in me to do anything let alone put a talk together.
everytime i do one it takes allot out of me and let's just say the well is pretty dry.
Hey man, I am sure there is a young upstart in the hall who always wants to give a talk etc... Just ask him to do it ahead of time, and tell you have something that is going to keep you from the meeting that night but made some arrangements for him already if he wants to take advantage of them.
If he asks you what it is....just say its some personal stuff but you are fine.
That is what I would do. I used to give talks every other week either as an MS or publisher.....but at a certain point I just couldn't represent them anymore. Even if what I was saying wasn't specifically a bother to me, it felt inauthentic and i didn't like the fact that the GB and the org was what was being propped up by me giving my parts. So I just told them to take me off. When they said why. I said because my conscience won't let me teach certain things and this is just easier. Lol.
i figured he was going to arrange the committee and try to get me kicked out after the whole "big pile of books" labelled "take this shit".. well his call made me realize that more and more people ... elders included no longer take this religion seriously.
after he told me he heard what happened he actually laughed and said i would never expect that.
he then told me that it is apparent that i no longer want to be connected to the organization.

You are going to have to change your name on this board I think. I admire your straightforward approach. It is a shame your parents slander you and then ask you for what they need. If I did what you did down here they would have announced me faster than you could say "mentally diseased". I am really interested in what the new employee and her husbandly owner think about this when it gets out. How could Jehovah had maneuvered this blessing, when you don't serve the congregation (head explodes).
Lets be honest here for a minute. You have a strong personality, and are a lone wolf in alot of ways. At least that is my perception. The brothers kind of asking you what you want to do, shows a small bit of intimidation. You probably intimidate them, and the more affluent brothers get away with a bit traditionally. Trust when my buisness was seriously poppin, I was treated like gold despite the fact I had a couple guys gunning for me and the handwriting was on the wall.
I mean it got on where one of these elders told me I had "pre-apostate thinking", after a 4 hour back room fest, and I slammed my fists on the table so hard out of anger the coward jumped back into the corner of the room. But nope......they didn't go there. Was it because I employed a bunch of JW's and was well liked and respected by others? Yep.
My fam is in, and friends that are good people are in, I need to continue the fade. But I understand your point of view. I am sorry about your family and their attitude.

Well the annual meeting is poised to be more inclusive this year than any one previous. So I think it is a way to keep people "excited" and feeling special about their movement.
Its of course incredibly smart to do so. They do it all the time. Something previously inclusive of only a few (for no real good reason), is the "opened up" to all.
here in the uk over the last couple of years i hear more about people leaving/being removed due to apostasy?

I haven't been here but maybe half a year as an active poster, and I haven't been to a meeting in 9 months. 3 years ago my mind was shifting, and I was probably leanign this direction. I don't have alot ot compare this too, but it seems to come in waves. Alot of people that used to post.....simply do not now.
