  ARE YOU AN ANGRY and BITTER APOSTATE?

  i have noticed that there are different reactions to learning the "truth about the truth".

  some become quite bitter and angry and become very activist.

  others seem to just move on quite easily.. .

  Some go from believing everything the WT says, to believing everything apostates say.

  I noticed this as well. Some people go from being JW to Mormon too. If people are going to look for justification of how they "feel" then they will do it regardless of their belief system. I think you finally get over it when you can recognize good and bad in the same sentence, and hav empathy for the people still trapped inside.

  Then again, many even most of them, like that "trapped" feeling. At the end of the day we are all just people. I understand anger and bitterness in some peoples instances with no problem. They lose their wife, job, family.......I get it. It may not be healthy, and I hope they find peace, but its not like their anger isn't justified.

  I tend to be more frustrated than angry, but that just the stage I'm in.

  Dumb ass cultish elders

  ok so i'm not officaily da'd as of yet and the elders (2) come over to my house and want to talk with my wife.

  so i'm thinking there looking for more info on me and ask her to go sit with them in their car since there was no place for privacy at my house.

  then a few minutes later my wife calls me and asks me to meet them out at the car and they drive around and i get in.

  How do you reconnect if you've been DF'd?

  i am helping out a support group in spanish for ex-jw's and i need help on something:.

  if one is df'd, how would one ever help your relatives?

  how to get to talk to them and try and help them to come out of the cult?

  Options are very limited. Here are some thoughts.

  1) They could get reinstated, as then is the only time they will be able to actually communicate.

  2) I like Roberts postcard idea. Maybe making sure that you communicate something, even if its only one sided. You just have to be prepared to not get responses, but to keep trying. Most JW's out of sheer noseyness will not delete an e mail without reading it.

  3) Have them kind of ignore it, and push communication and seeign their family. Sometimes, especially with hispanic culture, the cut off of those family ties really wrenches the person doing the shunning.

  I think your involvement in the spanish field is fantastic. There is massive growth in Countries like Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela in addition to mexico and the central americas. The reason is the aversion to catholicism, and to be honest they usually attract the best missionaries. Kind hearted self sacrificing people with the right idea about what is important in life. They are just captive to the GB as we all were.

  Ah yes. Crap.

  So you sent that to a "friend" and they proceeded to rat you out post haste. I don't know much but see two-three options.

  1) Its yours. You were experimenting with a few things and just putting something on paper. Meant to be harmless, you shared it in confidence with a friend. You really are just "confused", and maybe you shouldn't serve anymore.

  2) Deny it was yours and say you lied about it being yours to try to get your friends opinion about it. (this option requires lying so don't do it if you aren't prepared for it). You can come up with an explanation why.

  3) Own it, test them on it, try not to get DF'd, but be prepared to be.

  Eden the elders from my old congregations leave me alone even though they know more than they should about how I feel directly from me. I made several errors. They really COULD come and get me. But they leave me alone. Why? Its alot of work to deal with me, and I stayed away from the guys that like that kind of work. They were outmatched scripturally when dealing with me and because i knew their intent I knew what to say and not say. When they said, "What do you think about the role of the GB?", I turned to matthew and read where all authority in heaven and on earth had been given to jesus. I just pointed to it, and said, thats what I think, beyond that I'd just be giving my opinion, and I try to avoid doing that."

  These guys talking to me were heavies. They were really looking, but I just handled it a certain way. Plus I was a good guy in the hall and area. i think if they really went there, it would have cast aspersions on their motives. So they leave me alone because its too much work. Maybe that is an avenue to try, if they really give you the business.

  Hey Edenone,

  So I actually had a similar situation. I trusted someone I should not have, and it ended up blowing up on me, getting me removed, and starting the roll downhill. I took control at that point. I was vague, but not non-communicative, I moved halls, but kept ties with fiends, i agreed to meet with multiple brothers, but not with an original two, I acted "discouraged" while being honest with only a few close friends (who are not appointed and are true friends). I even got my wife to start to come around a bit. It is still a road, but I feel you.

  Let me know if i can help. Getting "found out" can kind of shock your plan, and you need to get another one quick.

  in the old revelation book there was a section on the cry "peace and security.. "14 in recent years, politicians have used the phrase peace and security to describe various.

  human schemes.

  or was paul referring only to a specific event of such dramatic proportions.

  The post is just so full of supposition its hard to take seriously. Obama hates the clintons? He has a secret deal with Kerry predicated on the middle east getting back to the bargaining table? He wants to be the symbol for America after his presidency?

  Its just hard to take any of that seriously.

  The "cry of peace and security" is something they have backed off, because so many people have already said it, and that day was not "instantly upon them".
