anyone following the derek chauvin trial?.

if you are actually following it, not just listening to the media, you will likely realize that there is a huge gap between what is going on in court and what is being reported in the media.. if the trial was fair, i think he should be acquitted.

there is plenty of reasonable doubt about the cause of death (his dealer doesn't want to testify because he could be guilty of 3rd degree murder for selling him a fatal amount of fentanyl) and even doubt over whether the officer even had his knee on the guys neck or did anything counter to what they were meant to do as per policy.. but is it fair?

And the general public, including the black community is watching this case very closely to see if fair and equatable justice is being served to the accused.

They rarely want justice. Justice is just (the clue's in the name) and they don't care about facts or reality.

If there is an acquittal and those cops get off scott free without any charges being laid, expect riots in the streets once again.

Charges have been laid. If they are innocent of the charges then they deserve to be acquitted and free. If the prosecutor sought charges that were an overreach then that is on them.

If there are riots, that's on the rioters and anyone who encouraged it or didn't call for peace - so the media and democrats.

Lets say Floyd swallowed some tabs just when the cops pulled up behind him in his car. they didn't kick in right away but during the hold down they did and that stopped his heart and breathing.

Right, it would be reason alone to acquit.

The toxicology report would have shown high levels of fentanyl in his system if that were the case.

That was the case.

This case is a slam-dunk for the defence. The only doubt has been created by the media, creating a narrative and hyping it - trying to create the news rather than just report on it.

Same as they did with Trayvon Martin.

Same as they did with Mike Brown.

Same as they did with all the others.

People can keep being patsies and falling for it, or they can get a clue and learn to not listen to bad actors.

From what I read about fentanyl, one of the ways it kills you is that it stops your automatic responses.

So if you're drunk, and your head falls forward, the low-level firmware in your nervous system still kicks in and says "whoa, we need to move something!" so you don't die. But with fentanyl it can be more like "we think the whole breathing thing is overrated, let's not bother with it anymore"

if you go to a restaurant, do you tip and typically how much?

if you were given a 90 minute time frame to eat at a restaurant, would that restriction limit your tipping to the waitress or waiter?.

also if you order a coffee and donut and pick it up, do you contribute to the “tip jar” that’s on the counter?

Tipping was never as big of a thing in the UK. Part of that is that I don't think people generally eat out as much.

Maybe it's changed now.

Sorry, but not tipping because they are not handing out menus which is a good idea right now? That sounds like an excuse to justify it to yourself.

Likewise, waiting outside - these are often rules mandated on restaurants or the view that people don't want to see tightly packed groups of people. Punishing the wait staff for it is petty and low and again it sounds like an excuse more than a legitimate reason.

You should tip more now because wait staff are facing extra challenges, often having to wear masks and wipe things down more thoroughly and more often and the volume of visitors is often less - fewer covers means fewer people who potentially tip, so make up for those people who chose to be assholes.

There are a few places we visit a lot more than others (favourite pub and kebab shop) and often have a good chat with the owners or the wait staff to the point that we all know names and about each others lives and family and they know our usual orders or want feedback on new menu items.

I'll normally tip 20-30% at those places depending on how much I'm spending in total. It doesn't have to be somewhere we frequent, I tip the same wherever the service has been good.

I'm way more inclined to tip at an independent store than a fast-food chain but thinking about it, I am more likely to also tip at somewhere like Subway, but can't remember tipping at McDonalds - I guess it's that the former has more of a "personally made" aspect to it rather than just buying a product? For the same reason you don't tip the cashier at Walmart ...

I also tip food delivery drivers well, because it feels like they do more work to deliver your food and especially if it is miserable and cold out. We also tip at the bottle recycling because I wouldn't want to do that job and I doubt they get paid a lot.

Right now, there are a lot of people hurting and people's jobs in restaurants can disappear in a flash with the lockdowns, so if you're doing OK and have a good income I think you have a duty not to be stingy.

The long enduring pressure against Floyd's neck by police officer Chauvin was the cause of him blacking out and eventually dying.

What you're saying is "if the media representations were accurate, then ..."

Which is why there is an actual trial, not a "trial by media" which the very phrase's existence is an admission that the media version is likely unfair and inaccurate.

As I said right at the start - if you are going off the media reports of the trial you are seeing a completely different trial than if you follow it yourself and you're likely going to be surprised with the outcome as a result.

I chose where to spend my dollars based on the company or the artists involved.

If they do good (which right now can just mean "leave people alone, give them freedom") I'll be more inclined to buy from them.

If they are hypocritical assholes who have put a woke activist in charge of their social media account, I won't.

So you confirm, he was following correct procedure as per police policy.

I don't class a morning-after pill as an abortion, it's more late-acting contraception.

The majority of abortions are not in this category.
