  Tax on Unrealized Capital Gains!

  so janet yellen, the us treasury secretary, thinks taxing unrealized capital gains would be a way for them to fund their runaway spending.. first, they claimed that the real cost of their nonsense spending was $0, so they were lying then or are lying now ("why not both?!").

  second, they claimed that money printing doesn't affect inflation, so why not just print the money instead?.

  third, the "for billionaires" is to get the feeble minded masses on board, those that live on benefits and vote democrat for more "free money", but the irs monitoring of $600 bank accounts is also apparently to target the ultra-wealthy as well.

  You still don't get it?! Who hired the person in charge of props? Who didn't follow the correct safety procedures?

  People had already walked off set because of safety concerns, so his response was to hire non-trained people to take their place. Even a Hollywood publicist is going to have a hard time making this look like simply a tragic accident, because it screams negligence.

  You don't point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger, that's gun safety 101. It didn't even need to be loaded with a blank, for what he was doing, but he didn't check, and he didn't get the gun from someone who checked, and the guns had been left for hours while people had their lunch.

  For those who don't know, capital gains are when you make an investment and it goes up in value. Typically these are stock investments or property. The "unrealized" part means the gain is on paper only, because you haven't sold it. Now imagine that the asset appreciates, the home you bought 25 years ago for $200k is now valued at $1m ... would you really be ready for a 40% tax on the $800k difference? Remember, you haven't sold your home, so you don't have this money - it could fall in value, or you may have been planning on selling it and downsizing, to fund your retirement, or leave it to your children.

  You bought it with taxed money, now they want another cut because you saved and invested instead of spent and wasted.

  Some are going to claim "it's OK, they are only going to go after wealthy people". If you think they won't be coming for YOUR money, then you are a fool. The wealthy will move their assets abroad and the funding will come from the middle class, anyone who ever works hard to try to get ahead. First they will get the tax in place, then all they need to do is change the thresholds of who it applies to. Think about the monitoring of $600 bank accounts and why they want that, then look at the history of every tax ever - they are always temporary measures that are just meant to apply to a select few, before they become the norm, because politicians are addicted to spending money and will always want to turn the tap higher.

  What you and a lot of other people are dealing with around this is cognitive dissonance, there are people making defenses for this person because he was a hero for their cause caught up in the exact behavior that said person was berating others for engaging in.

  Yeah, like many others he wants to defend him because he mocked Trump.

  He shot and killed a women through a combination of carelessness and penny pinching, but people still want to believe everything that people like him told them about Trump, all of which was fake news. So they try to excuse what he did which honestly, I find inexcusable - both what he did and people defending him because they happen to be fellow TDS sufferers and still haven't wised up that they were lied to over and over and fell for it every time.

  I think it's got bugger all to do with what side of political spectrum actor is etc.

  Normally, I would agree. But when it's someone who has been so vocal and so critical of other shootings, when those shootings have been in self-defence, then their political statements about the issues make pointing out their hypocrisy and double standards fair and valid IMO.

  One thing I can guarantee: if this had been a conservative / Trump supporter that had done this, it would be on SNL already. Because it's Alec Baldwin, a democrat / anti-Trumper, it probably won't ever be mentioned.

  So who really are the ones who "politicize" things? It's the left. It's people like Alec Baldwin.

  Your analogy is wrong. Let me fix it for you:

  You know you are meant to hire a trained explosive expert but you cheap out and hire some local yokel for the role. Then on the day, you don't even have them doing the job, because "time is money" or something like that.

  So you take the real bomb from someone who tells you it's a toy, but you know they don't really know, or you should because it isn't their job, and you don't bother checking yourself, and you should.

  You throw the bomb and blow your colleagues to pieces and then cry "oh no, it's so unfair what's happened to ME!!"

  The person who is responsible is the one who hired the people, ran the show, didn't follow procedures and threw the bomb. He's a murderer or at best, an incompetent, irresponsible fool. Either way, he killed those people.

  The fact that he was a hypocritical preachy self-righteous virtue signalling prick why leapt at the chance to criticize others who had genuine reason to throw real bombs means he shouldn't get any sympathy.

  Absolutely.

  If some other actor had done this on his movie, he'd be blaming them.

  If he did this on someone else's movie, he'd be blaming the process failure.

  HE did it on HIS movie. It's all on him.

  I wonder if SNL will do comedy about it, y'know, like when Cheney accidentally shot someone?

  As for the facts, we don't know them all yet but we do know that we won't be told the entire story and will likely be told some mistruths. People do employ publicists after all who's job it is to "make me look good" and I think handling bad PR is part of that.

  As an example of things I think don't make sense I've seen one report that someone said "cold gun" when handing it to him and another that Baldwin said "why did someone give me a hot gun?". It just feels like an odd response, wouldn't it be "why did you tell me it was cold?" or 'that wasn't a cold gun!".

  Incidentally, the claim is that he was handed the gun by an assistant director and told it was cold. I would question whether that constitutes any form of safety protocol - surely the point of having someone responsible for the firearms is for that to be their job? Safety protocols only work if people follow them, and if they don't then that is negligence.

  Anyway, how about a joke to lighten the mood?

  Hollyweird and the leftist idiots tell us gun owners all the time that we need safety classes and licenses to own a gun and keep it in a safe ect.

  No, they say that guns should be banned and no one should have them. By no-one, they mean you, because they have armed guards. Then they play pretend-shootouts and produce endless movies and TV shows glorifying shooting and criminality while criticizing police if they ever shoot anyone even if they are being shot at.

  There is no reason Hollywood couldn't have 100% safe guns, other than $$$
