If it was about science, getting vaccinated and boosted would be based on whether you have antibodies or not.
It's about control, which is why they don't want someone unvaccinated but immune due to previous infection "undermining" their control.

Yeah, if you need a break just take a break - no need for any announcement, certainly not a whole opera about it.
I'd put money on either something else going to come out or a future request for financial support to help him continue his "activism".
But I really can do without seeing his fat ugly mug on my site.

Poor Llyod
by notsurewheretogo inlook...i've had my beef with lloyd aka cedars and some of the stuff he says or does but equally i respect what he is trying to do and what he has achieved in terms of waking people up.. he intimated he had mental health issues years ago but his video today is brutal...i see pain in his eyes and he is suffering.
his family come first and the man needs to heal.. yes he has issues that many on here see but its not the man that is important but his work.. but the man needs time to heal mentally and i wish he does so.
he deserves that despite the feelings and things that have happened in the past with the exjw community.. he has done so much for the exjw community in general that i hope all give him a little clack and he returns.. if any of us did what he did we may be in the same boat but none of us do...see past the man and see his work but equally the man is suffering and it is pretty sad...i hope he gets better soon.

1. No one forced him to do anything, he chose to try to make "activism" his career. Personally, I think that is reckless, especially for someone with a wife and young kids.
2. "Work" is sometimes difficult and challenging. It has been especially so for many these last 2 years.
3. Taking a break can help. I'm not sure people need to make such a dramatic announcement for taking a couple of months off.
But it doesn't sound like the issue is really anything todo with the ex-JW stuff and is more todo with his family or marriage (I'm guessing). Maybe the announcement and plea for privacy is to pre-empt something ... who knows.
Whatever the case, he's made threats several times over discussions of his videos on this site that he isn't allowed to moderate or control, so I prefer not to allow them to be posted or discussed because I have better things to do than deal with crazy.
The few interactions I've had with him and seen others have with him convinced me that he's unstable so I prefer to keep my distance.

by QuestioningHere ini have read all the rules and terms of service etc before asking this, and there was also a topic about it from five months ago so i figure it's ok. i'm not sure with subject area it was supposed to go in, so i went in the watchtower one seeing as that's what it's about, but please correct me if i'm wrong as i don't want to break any rules accidently.
i was also unsure if i could post on that thread seeing as it's an old one.. has anyone had any success trying to get hold of the jw.org email(s)?
i would like to contact them about some questions i have but they seem to not have one, and i'm too nervous to ring a phone number they have in case someone recognised me.

I get emails all the time from people thinking it's the official mailbox. I can't even forward them on because I don't know of any official JW.org contact address.
Yes, the organization that claims they are the only way for salvation won't let you contact them using the easiest commonest method available.

The three wise men
by Simon injust a thought.... looking through the greatest man book, something just occurred to me which i can't recall has ever been highlighted (but please correct me).. i always thought it a bit strange that jehovah allowed the three pagan astrologers to find jesus especially as they were obviously guided to him by satan's star (remember they were led to herod first who wanted to kill the messiah).
what purpose did it serve?.
well, a few pages earlier in tgm book, we see mary presenting a dove as a sin offering at the temple - this was the cheapest offering that was acceptable which must have meant that they were pretty poor at the time.. shortly after the three wise men visited the family had to flee to egypt when herod started to kill all the young boys in an attempt to kill jesus.. what would they need to travel and live as exiles for a couple of years?.

To chose the opposite viewpoint purely because you don't like some one or some group when you would otherwise agree with it is the hight of stupidity.
Not everything the WTS teaches is bad. Having a moral lifestyle and not doing drugs for instance are good edicts, regardless of who promotes them.

Now correct me if I'm wrong. Simon---were you actually defending the WT's teaching? ---OR-were you just Joking? I'm not sure.
I was trying to appear non-apostate and attract JWs to discuss things. Also, I think, to show that you don't need to be on the Governing Body to come up with "insights" on the bible - just basic reading skills and some imagination.

There's probably going to be a lot of people struggling this year, especially after the "novelty" of lockdowns has long since passed.
Maybe check-in on someone you haven't been in contact with for a while - it's a perfect excuse just to say "hi" and that you are thinking of them, and it could make all the difference.

But then that was always pretty much every meeting ever - someone reading the WT paragraph, someone asking a question, then someone reading part of the paragraph again to establish their righteousness with their public display of obedience and compliance.
