My take is Andrew had him on his channel awhile back and fell for his smooth talking and level of intelligence on JW matters.

I don't think it's a case of "falling for" anything - it's just that Lloyd is probably affable up to the point that someone crosses him. Then he turns very nasty, very quickly. And "crossing him" consists of questioning something or simply not agreeing with him with sufficient enthusiasm.

All the people who still support him can do a simple experiment. Post an innocuous reply to him that suggests you don't agree with something, or that you feel he should apologize to the people he's hurt or let down. Then see if you still think he's friendly and worth supporting (you'll likely be insulted and / or blocked).

He only wants adulation, and to silence everyone else.

His attempt to explain away his behavior has made everything worse and Andrew Gold has done a great job following the trail and exposing him for what he is to an independent, non JW, 3rd party audience.

I just watched the original Andrew Gold interview with him. He goes from bemoaning what "this situation" (really "his behavior") has done to his kids, and how it might affect them in the future to NAMING them in the stream.

So Jessica Lloyd, when you come across this as you inevitably will - know that many of us are so sorry for what your father has done to you and your mother. It's not your fault, we can't pick our parents. But you can get past this. I hope life treats you well.

So he's copying the WTS language and behavior? Kind of eerie, esp. to do it sat in front of the honoured collection of WTS literature.

If it weren't for his lack of morality, which would get him kicked out of the WTS, everything else about him screams "JW". They couldn't have paid anyone to do more damage to the exJW community and projects.

There are a few things broken right now but I'm working on an update that will include fixing (or rather replacing) a lot of these things.

That whole "bunker" thing is laughable anyway.

You go into a bunker for protection from an attack. Is he under attack? Is the WTS coming to get him?

Hardly ... from what I gather his JW inlaws are putting a roof over his head and his income is 100% dependent on the WTS.

Like all things Lloyd, it's a lie - trying to create a false narrative.

The reality is that criticizing the WTS takes zero bravery. No one is coming to get you, it's not Scientology or Islam.

My point was that I don't think we need to promote this kind of "plan" (or lack of) about leaving the WTS.

You don't have to go sleep around, get married, take drugs, become homeless or break any rules in order to quit. Break rules if you want to, if you fall in love with someone and genuinely want to marry them, do so, but don't marry some random as a way to get kicked out. Not only is it damaging to your own life, you are potentially screwing over someone else's too.

We need to promote the idea that people make deliberate choices based on rational decisions.

Running out a KH and effectively setting fire to yourself isn't any kind of realistic plan.

At age 18 I was disfellowshipped for sex outside of marriage (EDIT: to clarify, I mean "premarital sex", I am no cheater!) with no remorse (lol). But that was just a guise for me badly wanting a way out of the org.

I was homeless for 6 months, then lived with random different girls for another year. After many mental breakdowns, 3 suicide attempts, and development of severe CPTSD - I ended up spending another year back at meetings trying to get reinstated so I could see my family again. I really missed them all, specifically my baby brothers.

Got reinstated, moved back home, PIMO again. A year later I meet a wonderful “worldly” girl at work, we wind up getting married after 3 months of dating.

Sorry, but this is childish and stupid. If you want sex, have sex. If you want to leave the WTS, just leave.

I feel someone is destined to a life of bad decisions making

DON'T do what this person does. Stop. Think. Make good choices.

Lloyd loves to remind everyone that "all he's guilty of is being a flawed individual", in order to diminish what he's done.

The problem with this is that it's such a catch-all, it literally covers the entirety of human existence, from having an ingrowing toe-nail to being Jimmy Saville. Both are examples of someone being "flawed" after all.

The problem is that it's such a generic concept.

Imagine someone has committed a crime, if they say "all I've done is committed a legal violation" it tells you nothing. Because what matters is the nature of the crime to determine its real severity. Because stealing a boiled sweet from Woolworths pick'n'mix is not the same as rape or murder, but both fall under the heading of "committed a crime".

And of course this is why he does it. He uses the generic term to avoid reminding people about "the thing" but then trots out the more serious specific examples such as "I haven't killed anyone or clubbed a seal" so he looks less culpable by comparison.

He's a master of misleading double-speak and trickery to both make out other people have done wrong when they haven't, but also to absolve himself of guilt for far more serious moral failings. I guess people do learn something from MTS after all ... they learn how to lie.

Yeah, it's an invented scandal. Same as "bottle gate", just make out that there is some outrageous act going on when there is zero proof whatsoever.

Normal people have ornaments and buy liquor. Neither of these things are weird.

But making out some crime or sin has been committed based on such normal things is kind of strange though.

Imagine being so puritanical that you think someone having a trinket or buying a bottle of whiskey is the enemy of the people but abandoning your wife and kids to hire a Thailand girlfriend using donated funds is nothing wrong whatsoever.

Imagine having a moral compass so broken, both needles have fallen off.

The bible has many, many plot holes and crazy stories.

I like the ones that really get dafter and sillier the more you think about them. The OT is full of them.

Take the story of Sampson for instance.

First, there's a guy with super powers who killed 1,000 soldiers with nothing more than a donkey's jawbone.

Forget the 1,000 people bit, which is mental, what about that super-strong donkey bone that didn't break for all that?! Incredible ...

More incredible still, they discover that the secret to his super-powers is his hair. So Delilah seduces him, gives him a haircut and bam, captured.

What do the "OMG, that guy killed 1,000 soldiers with a donkey-bone!" people do? Obviously they kill him immediately, because he's too dangerous to be kept alive and ... wait, they don't? OK, so they at last are going to assign a barber to give that mofo a haircut every day so that ... oh, they don't do that either?

No, instead they let him grow it out, all gather to a structurally unsound building and pull him in to stand at its weak point and he kills the lot of them.

This is the kind of laughable plot that wouldn't be seen again until the mid 2000's Twilight movies.

That's without even getting to the logistics of capturing 300 foxes in one night and tying them together by their tails.
