  The US election process looks positively 3rd world, and the democrats look as corrupt as ever.

  The documentary is very compelling and everyone should watch it.

  It explains why Biden "won" despite not campaigning and not attracting a crowd anywhere he went.

  To "win" they had to pump so many votes into those swing states he end up with a record number, more than Obama. Like really, Biden is more popular? Don't make me laugh.

  I am not against donations and all patrons kind of suff etc. But at the very least it should be done in a transparent way and definitely not under the tag of some professional activism.

  If I was going to make activism and running a website into a "business", I'd expect to provide some simplified accounts showing what money was donated and the various things it was spent on. At some point, you may get more money coming in than you can genuinely spend on the endeavour and at that point you don't start dipping your hand in and funding your own lifestyle from it unless you are in it for the money. What you do is say "thanks everyone, we're fully funded and don't need any more support right now - why not direct the money to some other 'cause or spend it on your own family instead?"

  Vacations to whore around in Thailand never qualify as legitimate use of funds.

  Pretending you need funds for activism while spending it on hookers is dishonest, pure and simple.

  Now throw in that your activist supposedly critiques your target for how they use donated funds and ... oh dear. Not only are you a dishonest immoral lying clown, but the little bit of "hacktivism" you bothered to do to justify it all is completely undermined.

  He's shat on a lots of other people's work too in the process. What a selfish turd.

  We can nor allow a cult within a cult. People have suffered enough from the Watchtower, we don't want them jumping being captured by an exjw elder with uncontrolled sexual appetite.

  Exactly this. People need to be able to see exactly who this character is. IMO he's not really there to help people, he's there to help himself and to profit from people, usually people going through an emotional time which makes them vulnerable (exactly the way the WTS looks to recruit people at moments of stress in their life).

  That alone wouldn't be too bad and could be ignores, but the fact that he's using his funds to do some pretty unsavoury shit and by his own admissions, can't control himself sexually, makes it critical that people be warned about him so they are not further victimized in any way.

  We don't need leaders. There really isn't enough that the WTS does that is new such that we need a constant stream of media to break it down and analyze. They repeat the same things over and over for decades. We just need a certain amount of information to be available and some friendly voices to help people on their way.

  All of that can be free. None of it requires any payment schemes or people making it a full-time career. There are enough people willing to do it purely because they want to help people.

  Those are the voices that need to be heard.

  Lloyd is now a walking talking wobbling bobble-head caricature of what an ex-JW is as described by the WatchTower. How does that help but reinforce their stereotypes and keep people trapped inside? He may as well be the WatchTower, he acts so much like them.

  on my profile, under "update avatar", i click on "upload avatar image" and choose the picture i want, but it doesn't work.

  i know it says there may be a slight delay but i've been waiting for more than 12 hours so i'm wondering if there's something wrong with the site, or if i'm missing something..

  Sorry, the site's been under a sustained campaign of attack recently so I've had to divert my attention to bolster it's defences. The new checks are working well, maybe too well - the person doing it still hasn't noticed that they aren't getting anywhere but it makes me smile to know they are wasting so much of their time each day.

  I am still working on a site refresh to modernize lots of things including sign-on, account management and posting.

  Also been experimenting with various full-text search engines to make things significantly easier to find.

  The plan as he described it in his post was to write the book under his real name (no one knew it at the time)

  I actually knew it from day one - he's conniving but isn't the brightest (his email was his and his wife's names which took you straight to his JLE Publishing) but it was clear in hindsight that his concern about his identity and location being revealed wasn't because he wanted to fade so much as it be part of his book-promotion grand-reveal / publicity stunt.

  All I've seen of his book is that it's garbage. An endless stream of "and then I did this ... and then this happened ... and then I did that".

  No real revelations about the WTS as he has none to share. The only possible insights he has, he doesn't mention - which is how the children of local presiding overseers don't have to live to the same rules that the regular attendees do.

  Which is why what he left out about his JC is such a glaring omission and a big deal. There was definitely something he didn't want to come out, which has to be about him (otherwise why hide it?) and serous enough that he thought he could use it as leverage over them. Maybe something he did that was covered up? Who knows, we can only speculate on what may fit the information we can piece together.

  He's a fraud, he was a fraud as a JW and now he's a fraud as an apostate. He also fakes being mr happy family man who cares about his wife and kids.

  Yeah, you're not a family man if you're screwing hookers at the same time as your wife is expecting, however much it adds to your image for patreon fundraising.

  The title of his book is the giveaway of the reality: The Reluctant Apostate. He's not an "apostate" because he saw through and objected to anything, he's only an apostate because THEY got sick of HIM and kicked his fat lazy ass out so he couldn't keep taking advantage of the congregation for free labor (notice: he always has other people doing the actual work).

  He didn't "see the truth", he lost his privileged position because he was a sleazy grubby man taking advantage of it and finally even daddy couldn't bail him out any more. How many people did he judge all while he was breaking the rules? Does he write about those? No, it's all him, him, him.

  Next he'll be a reluctant ex-ex-JW, well, one can only hope ...

  Think like Lloyd ... no shame, no morals, it's all a business and he wants to maximize his profits.

  If he can take money off people, he will, whether the project really requires it or not, and whether they have less them him or not. There's always vacations and other things he can spend it on.
