I think the JWs have the right to believe in certain moral standards. She clearly broke them.
The "reinstatement" will be academic 'cause everyone will know about it and won't accept the government overruling of the decision, so what's the point?
But more important I think in this case is someone appears to be willing to cry "rape" after the fact simply to excuse their own behavior, because it's convenient to them.

years ago, the jws did not like modern medicine.
vaccines and other things were all deemed bad.
this gave rise to a lot of jws getting into alternative medicines.
I remember people talking about this and it wasn't in a dismissive way, it was the same crazy belief that they gave the WTS claims.
It's clearly fraud, and yet the government allows it. But then if they started to clamp down on health-related fraud there would be a lot more industry and revenue being shut off.

Yeah, it's the difference between going to do a good thing for the sake of doing it alone, and maximizing what you can do, which means no "team" and less equipment ... and doing it for PR purposes.

He loves the "innocent by relative comparison" defence. He even uses it in his livestream saying he hasn't murdered anyone or clubbed any baby seal to death. If I recall he fails to mention rape in his list or later deny a direct accusation of grooming a 14 year old, instead choosing to decry what he sees as a lack of support he's getting from exJWs.
