  Does anyone genuinely believe that Clinton, Obama, and Biden aren't utterly corrupt and guilty of conspiring to profiteer from their positions and fix the election?

  For real, do people genuinely look at them, at all that has happened and think "duh, yeah, fine upstanding leaders right there!"

  She says they interfered with her ability to get employment. ??? Hollywood gave her 3 years to talk about nothing but Scientology, she got an Emmy for the show. Granted she hasn't done much since but she's an aging actress who still looks good but doesn't have a helluva lot of range. She's no Kate Winslet or Streep, so she's really sure that Scientology is the reason she can't get much work these days?

  I'm not aware of ever seeing anything she's been in. I wouldn't be surprised if the Scientologist argument was that she was only 'famous' in the first place because of them (was she famous? She seems like one of these people who are, well, "famous for being famous", and on TV but you can't remember why).

  Maybe I just watch the wrong shows ...

  Now that Leah Remini files a lawsuit against the Scientology church

  Yeah, good luck with that.

  We've been watching "How to Become a Cult Leader" on Netflix and it's interesting. One thing that I keep thinking is "how could you legislate against this?". Because you can legislate against actual abuses, that break laws, but you can't legislate belief.

  So lawsuits that boil down to "someone told us we were super beings from another planet and we believed them" seem like they should be doomed to fail. No one can or protect you from believing a dumb belief, that is entirely on you and your parents.

  There's a certain irony that people fooled once by a cult are still not discerning enough to see that someone else just wants to use them and their platform.

  What does he care about Scientologists, really?

  Lloyd is precisely the sort of abusive little prick that thrives in these organizations. He's the elder everyone has a story about who was obviously getting off probing for details of exactly what someone else's immorality entailed, in explicit detail.

  Of course he was so dumb he couldn't even avoid doing the few things necessary to not blow his participation in the little scheme, but he managed to!

  Honestly, he doesn't even have to edit much if he doesn't want to. All Tibor adds is a nice filter on top. But do ex-jws really care that much about how well something is edited? Especially when 99% of the content is interview/podcast style? Like really?

  Exactly. Sure, "production values" are nice, but I don't think I've ever watched a video or not watched on because of that, it's all about the content. That is what you're watching for.

  If anything, it seems off when something is too slick, especially when it's something that money needed to be raised for work and has instead been spent on equipment and increased production costs.

  I reckon once it all dries up and he's forced to get a job, he'll flee back to the UK.

  I could see him going back to claim welfare (wouldn't surprise me if he already claimed while living abroad). The wife and kids are handy to increase how much he can claim.

  But the cost of living in Croatia has to be low, so it's probably a better gig to beg on the internet for those in higher earning countries to send money, not realizing what it translates to.

  I know it's irritating, but we're making the mistake of believing him. Go with the assumption that everything he says is an outright lie or a manipulation of the facts.

  I agree, he could have 2,000 patreons and it drop to 1,500, and he's be making the same begging videos. We simply cannot believe anything he says as he's a consistent liar. He seems like one of those people that lies when there is not even a need to, but he get's a kick out of misleading someone or getting away with something.

  The economics of YouTube was distorted by free 0% money flooding the market. It was never realistic and the number who can "make a living" from being a YouTuber is dwindling. Tech companies aren't as flush with cash to buy the illusion of success anymore, advertisers can't piss money away. The gravy train is slowing down and coming to an end.

  Everything is ultra-short attention span crap. 15 seconds of morons (Lloyd will fit right in) but little money to be made unless you have some product to sell.

  He doesn't have a job, so regardless of how many paterons he has, he certainly has the time to make the videos he promised.

  He doesn't, because he has nothing of value to say and the market wised up to his regurgitated content. When the content doesn't bring in the views and the $$$, he's got no interest in producing it - it's simply a chore and he has no work ethic.

  Because he knows, despite his claims, that there's nothing really "life saving" in what he does. His "activism" is just an excuse to fundraise. He's a for-profit business, and it was always about the money and financing his lifestyle which mostly consists of putting his feet up or else vacationing at other's expense.

  I don't care if he changes or not, I don't think he will, but I do care that he continues to be an abusive prick that's too often bullying and taking money off vulnerable people. If ridicule drives him out of the exJW community then it's valuable.

  Even if it doesn't drive him away, it shows he has no power. It shows that people can stand together. If it stops one other person being victimized by that sick bullying pervert then it's worth it.

  Sorry, but this is pure hyperbole. Go anywhere on earth and no one has a clue who the GB are or who you are. They certainly don't look at you, and run screaming simply because of whatever GB edict has been passed down. That isn't how it works.

  Newsflash: the only people who can ever shun you are your friends and family. Beyond that, you just have strangers and who cares if a stranger you've never met or talked to continues to not talk to you? In fact, how would they ever know 'not to', unless you tell them?

  ... we could train a Lora for Stable Diffusion so anyone can AI generate Lloyd-style pictures in whatever pose or situation anyone wants.

  Just need a decent collection of images to train it on.

  And obviously PTSD counselling for whoever sees that many pics of him.
