  Is it his ego that makes him utterly stupid, or is actually stupid?

  I've often wondered this. He will make a claim, which suits whatever argument he's trying to make, then 10 minutes later he's making a contradictory claim. He can't keep a straight story for whatever reason - maybe it's because he lies so much (if you're telling the truth, it's consistent, and you don't need to work at remembering different things you've said). Or maybe he is actually stupid and because he can't remember the stories or see the inconsistencies he assumes no one else can either.

  If you ever try to debate him, it's like trying to nail jello to a wall. He's in full JW mode - switching topics, pouncing on the different meaning of individual words and obsessing about the slightest error anyone makes. But completely missing any coherent logical argument.

  Personally, I think it's both - it's ego and stupidity.

  You don't really get anything for the paid tiers either, as he doesn't live up to his promises.

  You can buy followers on all platforms, usually it's for a mix of personal vanity and fraud reasons ("why no both?" meme).

  as a kid mum told me usa was warned about the coming pearl harbor attack.. 9/11 and covid-19, history repeating.

  What's always missing from these "they were warned" conspiracy theories is that they probably get thousands of warning every day, some credible, some not, and even if legit it takes time for things to go up the chain of command etc...

  You only notice the attacks that succeed, not the ones that are thwarted or intercepted.

  My theory is they were maybe too used to relying on the "iron dome" missile defence system, and no one though of people coming in using microlight gliders. Lesson learned.

  People might be able to sue and get a judgement against Lloyd. While collecting cross-border might be difficult, it could serve to limit his ability to travel for fear of being served while in a country where collection could be enforced.

  His court filing was just part of the charade, he was really hoping that his shakedown letter would work and people would panic, remove their content, and give him a pay-day in the process.

  It didn't work and he's lost his reputation and control. He's finished in the exJW community. Good riddance.

  Patron, noun:

  "a person who gives financial or other support to a person, organization, cause, or activity"

  If you have "patrons" that aren't paying, are they really still patrons? No, they are not. It'll potentially convince some who were paying patrons to drop down to the lower tier. I'm hoping the majority are only giving him $2 a month (still $24 a year to much).

  He's just trying to give the illusion that he isn't hemorrhaging support.

  But then everything he ever did was all for appearances and publicity.

  let's get the fun started and put in our votes for how far down the pumpkin patch lord of the fries will fall in november.. for those keeping score, last month he started at 457 patrons, did some begging and managed to bump those numbers up to 478, but as of this writing he's down to 439.. so, how well do you think the grift will continue this month?

  let us know where you think he'll be on november 2. lucky number 420?

  He was down to 390 patrons when he did his begging video and bumped the numbers up. I think he hit a low of 435 this month before rebounding to 440 or 441. I think he's at 439 now.

  He's down roughly 50% from his all time peak, and 25% from the bounce from his last over-the-top begging attempt. Those get old very quickly, you can't do that too often - he's probably already out of suckers that can't see the baloney.

  The economy is also getting tougher which is a double whammy for him - his expenses will go up at the same time as everyone else's and more people will start to question whether they have money to spare on something that has no effect, and doesn't even result in any real production anyway. What exactly is the point of donating?

  his promised documentaries, TED Talk, etc.

  I am disappointed he didn't do a TED talk, I think it would be hilariously bad and go viral as a result. Just imaging, some fat geezer with a droning voice trying to be serious, telling the world how he wasn't allowed to touch his pee-pee, but how he never stopped touching his pee-pee and rubbing it against random objects, including Christmas trees. And the tale of woe about how them not allowing him to touch it affected him deeply, and tampered with him, even though he didn't actually follow any of the rules. And how he forever more lost mastery of it ...

  Real reasons behind this change?

  just a good conversation at home about the hour report change.. we think the change was not impmemented because the gb are such a lovely bunch of old grandpa's having the best in mind for us individuals.. there will be only, and we say only, an organizational reason for it.

  a legal reason, to protect jw.org and it's officials and wealth.. next step?

  maybe selling more kh and when jw hollywood studio's in rampoo are ready a change to tv subscription.. what do you think?

  they were saying these things even though people should still have been able to remember the 1969 magazine where they told young people that "the fact" was that they would "never" (direct quote!) grow old in the present system.

  I was born in 67, I remember being told that the end would come before I'd goto or leave high school.

  What a crock of shit. High school was a long, long time ago. Still no sign of big J doing his big A.

  Methinks some people were conned, and it wasn't even a convincing story.

  I third it. In fact, I demand that someone tell us where we can contribute the money to help cover the expenses from this. People have had expenses due to doing the right thing, not to mention the stress and inconvenience from all of it. Some thing are worthy of community contributions because we know real work was done and people involved are not profiteering.
