(the David Bowie song in case you're wondering)
There seems to be a lot of talk and speculation about the changes that are coming at the next district conventions. There have certainly been quite a few articles and talks (esp. one day assemblies) that seem to have been preparing for some change.
Anyone care to guess what it's going to be ?
I personally think that the 607 date will be dropped and maybe even the 1914 date too bit it will have to be done OH SO CAREFULLY!
It will be interesting to see. What does everyone else think ?

About posting your picture be careful!
by spectromize insimon i'm sorry i don't mean to rain on your parade but you have to remember the society and your local elders watch for stuff like that.
this is a very liberal board as far as discussions go and forever thankful for that, but you have to be careful because you could face a jd meeting.
i'm sure everyone is well aware that some posts on this board just wouldn't go over to well with the society.

I honestly don't think that most elders are clued up enough about the internet to even find this board...they probably don't even have computers let alone internet connections (or is this just my hall?)
How about, for those that dont want to expose themselves, we have piccies of pets, film-stars, singers etc... (I don't mind seeing a nice pic of Jerry Ryan whenever seven posts for example ) -

Thanks for thinking about me Spectromize - I really appreciate the concern.
If anyone did want to cause trouble over me posting here though I could either claim it wasn't really me (someone trying to get me in trouble) or ask them what THEY were doing here!
I think honest, open discussion should prevail and I think it's important that people know and can see who I am rather than just being an anonymous name. -

I Need advice on Women.
by spectromize inokay, here is a few questions concerning women that i would like a little help with.. supposing your trying to get some lady's attention because your interested in her, what is a good approach without sounding to cheesy?
.
another question is how do you know and what are the indications that the girl is taking interest in you, and what are the indications she wants you to take a hike?
-
Simon
I did a really cheesy thing and offered to carry a heavy bag for a sister on the way back to the car park from a district convention.
Can you believe that out of a whole football stadium she was sat in front of me the next day!
That was about 7 years ago and we've just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary.
My advice ? BE YOURSELF ! -

I'm going to stay out of this other than sharing these diagrams of what goes on inside a man's brain compared to a woman's brain...

Burdens
by Liverwurstest ini have just gained a new little girl.
my wife bore an 8lb baby girl with many complecations.
the majority were taken care of with surgery but she is also deaf.
-
Simon
Hi Liverwurstest
I can only imagine what you're going through. My wife had a few complications with both of our children but luckilly they came through OK although my eldest (3) does have a slight hearing problem and is very slow with his speach.
Technology and attitudes are both improving compared to how things used to be and I would imagine that solutions to deafness are either here already or won't be long in coming.
I think the most important thing for any child is that their mum and dad love them and are proud of them. I think you're child is very fortunate.
Enjoy watching her grow up ! Our two lads are 8 months and 3 years and are everything I live for - words can't describe how fantastic they are. -

Unevenly Choked
by RedhorseWoman inhe hit you, and your parents think all you need to resolve are spiritual matters?
run.....really fast.. what this brother did was to assault you.
you would be well within your rights to charge him with that.. one of my friends married a brother who seemed absolutely wonderful.....a little tempermental, but his father was an elder and he was well thought of in the congregation.
-
Simon
Hi Seven
I must agree with RedhorseWoman - there is no excuse for him hitting you and I don't think you should ever believe any "I wont do it again" plea.
If anything, doing it once will make it easier the next time.
Get out, run away, don't look back.
