Sudden implosion is probably a better way to go than a long slow death as the oxygen runs out.

The currently missing 'Titan' submarine. What do you think?
by SydBarrett inany opinions are just speculation, but my guess, being morbid, is that there was not a hull breach and implosion (although that would have been the most merciful fate for them), but instead the amateur level of building this thing meant that it lost power and communication and got itself tangled in the titanic's wreckage or is sitting on the actual seabed with no way to release ballast to resurface.
terrifying.

It's easy to tell someone "sorry, we have to get you to sign these waiver forms, just legal make us, but we have a 100% safety record" and there's a good chance that YOU will also have signed something similar at some time in your life for some event, though likely far less risky.
It's all about waving away your rights and their obligations to really make you safe.

I didn't notice at the time that the first thing he said was "I haven't raped anyone". But basic statistics + stories from those who escape the sex industry say that the more frequently you use prostitutes, the more likely that you are in fact a rapist.
Consent from someone who can't freely give it, isn't really consent.

If you have to compare yourself to Hitler, Pol Pot or Jack the Ripper to "not seem such a bad person" ... then I think you may be a bad person.

my question is this==> Didn’t they survey the mini-sub BEFORE they paid their fee?
Just because someone is rich, doesn't mean they are wise or sensible.

Yeah, they found a rear hatch cover and landing frame.
This is now a recovery mission.
I don't think there's going to be anything to recover though.
The more you read, the more unsafe it was. You'd have to be a fool to trust your life to those people, they seemed to want to cut corners when it came to safety.
Apparently one employee raised safety concerns and they fired and sued them to prevent them revealing anything. Always a sign of a company putting safety first, right?

Story Musgrave taking a risk as part of his profession to spacewalk and fix the Hubble Telescope is not the same as a bored fat multi-millionaire hiring some sherpa's to guide him to the top of Everest and getting everyone killed.
Yes, there is no discovery involved, it's just someone who wants to buy an achievement.
Stupid ventures like this should be made illegal. You couldn’t pay me enough money to get into a claustrophobic contraption and go into some death zone!
They should have to pay a deposit / fee towards potential search and rescue costs.

I wonder why I'm supposed to care about some morons that risk their lives to get some kicks. It seems like a dangerous affair, with the thing controlled by a crappy $15 game controller!
So I don't give a damn, just as I don't care about the pricks that freeze to death on Everest - you wanted adventure? You got it ... oh, you thought it was going to be a cool anecdote at dinner parties did you? Too bad, so sad.

He was "knocked back" because his young child had already figured out that daddy doesn't seem to work like her friends' daddies do and he didn't really have a good answer. The fact is, he doesn't work to provide for his family - he begs.
Her next question should be "so have you stopped the bad men daddy?"
"No, silly child - if I did I'd stop getting money. The purpose is to perpetuate the grift, not to ever achieve the pretend purpose"
Does his book really free anyone from mental bondage? I thought it was just anecdotes of his sexual escapades ...
