Tell her mother that a promise is a promise, an oath. If you research the WT you will find that your engagement stands. Should you pose a threat to her spirituality, well then she can plead that.
Oh and she was not df'd??
i am in desperate need of advice.
i was recently df'd along with my fiancee, for fornication.
now the elders are trying to convince her parents that our relationship should end.

i saw an obituary last week- and elder i knew from the beginning had died- a faithful jw dub to the end.. he was baptised in 1939. his parents were part of the russell movement and died claiming to be annointed.
i just wondered how anyone could spend his entire life being duped by the watchtower propaganda.
i left so many tracts at his kh in 1989-90, that they posted a guard in the parking lot to keep me from hand billing the cars.
No, if he died feeling happy, content and that he made a mark with his life, then I am happy for him. It's hard to think about death when you are confused, disheartened, scared and hoping beyond hope that there is something after death. I am happy if he died with peaceful thoughts and a light heart.
well, its coming up on monday, my last chemo treatment!!
i cannot believe i have had 3 treatments already.
after the chemo, i will be treated with herceptin and taxol for 12 weeks, weekly infusions.
Thanks for all your responses ..... not looking forward to Monday but at least this part will be over. Then on to the next treatment. Phase 2 will be over. (Phase 1 was the initial surgery --- and I thought that was going to be bad, it was but now its over and I've moved on)

Anewme, here in my area there is a place called, "Michelle's Place," and through them, a woman can find treatment even though she has no medical insurance. The American Cancer Society had it listed on the information they sent me. I have insurance but happened to meet a volunteer who works there and she told me that Michelle's Place was more than a support group but also made sure that no women were denied treatment, regardless of whether or not they had insurance.
If it were you or a friend of yours, make sure that you contact the American Cancer Society, Breastcancer.org or the Komen Foundation.

Brenda, I heard that my Taxol/Herceptin treatments are going to last for a few HOURS. Not looking forward to that!!! I heard once I get to the H alone that it's only a 90 minute infusion. 12 weeks of weekly visits are not going to be fun! Let me know how it goes for you.

So, it will be a tough 3 months. After that, treatment is back to every 3 weeks for a year ... Herceptin only infusions. My head is bald but I have wigs. Pretty soon it should start growing back. It's weird wearing a hat in the house, but my head gets too cold. I also have some scarves when it's not too cold. My reconstruction is going good, this month I only have 2 more minor surgeries to put in more water in the expander. March will be when they put in the final implant, for now I've had a temporary that had to be filled up gradually with water .....stretching my skin since August.
i have been watching the page counts for the last 2 months.. jwd is close to have 5000 pages of posts.
as of this post we are still 11 pages away from the 5000 mark (4989).
i bet simon never expected this to grow the way it has or become the wonderful resource and gathering place of so many who need the support and understanding of those who need it.. from active jws to ex-jws to doubting jws to ubms of jws and even the curious as well as the odd student wanting to write a paper jwd has been a great place to learn, get and give support and connect with others.
Hard to believe I was upset at this site and wished it's demise ........
my 15 year old phoned her jw father tonight.
a relationship between the two does not exist.
(i have touched on the reason why in other posts regarding both my children).
Dr. Laura would call your ex a 'sperm donor' and your husband would be the real dad! It takes more than sperm to be a father!
dr. phil is looking to talk to people who feel a family member may be involved with a cult.
check it out if you'd like on his website (drphil.com) under "be on the show".
chakka
I saw that one. I wonder why he hasn't decided to tackle JW's or the Koresh type cults.........or what about LDS?
okay, i finally wrote.
got inspired by some letters i read here, other places, and of course personal experience.
i would love to have an opinion about it.... (i had to translate it form french...gramatical strangeness and abbreviations doesn't count!lol).
Very nice letter.......... I bet it would be beautiful to read in French. You should post the French version as well.
