A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present Seven Wonders of the World.
Though there was some disagreement, the following got the most votes:
1. Egypt's Great Pyramids,
2. Taj Mahal,
3. Grand Canyon,
4. Panama Canal,
5. Empire State Building,
6. St. Peter's Basilica,
7. China's Great Wall.
While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one quiet student hadn't turned in her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn't
quite make up my mind because there were so many."
The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help."
The girl hesitated, then read, "I think the Seven Wonders of the World are:
1. to touch
2. to taste
3. to see
4. to hear
She hesitated a little, and then added
5. to feel
6. to laugh
7. and to love.
The room was so full of silence you could have heard a pin drop. Those things we overlook as simple and "ordinary" are truly wondrous. A gentle reminder, the most precious things in life cannot be bought. Count your blessings and wonders every day!

What pisses you off about elders wives?
by bay64me in.
the elders wife that really pisses me off, is the one that would boastfully announce that jehovah had provided her husband with a part-time teaching job, emphasising that his employment was "on the line" each year....but thanks to jehovah,(in other words) we are so fucking loyal and do many hours in field service and things that nobody could possibly know about ( but i'm letting you know indirectly) so my husband has an income to assist us in our pioneer service!
what pisses you off about elders wives?

Wives who only let their children associate with the children of other elders or when they have teens and young adults, they only invite pioneers to their parties (even when their own children are not pioneering!!).
Wives who act like elderettes.
Wives who know all the goings on at the elders meetings.
Wives who brag about their sacrifice to pioneer, although they could never get a real job anyway, since they only qualify to flip burgers.
Wives who refuse to talk to others in the congregation.

I sold my soul for lobster
by joannadandy inok so my parents big deal has always been while i may not go to meetings they are free to ask about my religious status, and invite me to meetings (i do not have to accept the invitation) as long as i live under their roof.
my parents other big deal is to go out to lunch after the sunday meeting.
in fact, they usually say "say, wanna come to the meeting tomorrow?

DO you REALLY think this is THE END OF JW's?
by minimus ineverytime a new revelation comes to the board, some suggest that this is the big one.
whether it be the blood issue, the u n debacle, the silentlambs saga, some cryptic comment about jw's and their involvement with churches, it seems like nothing effects the jehovah's witnesses rank and file.
personally.

You know, the Catholics are still in business after the Medicis, the Borgias and other murders, bastard children, simony and even the recent scandal of their bank.... (and murder/sudden death of John Paul, not John Paul II).
You have the scandal of the PLN network and yet the tv evangelists are still in business.
You will always have the stick-to-it-people that they stick it to that will follow them.

And don't forget the ones that the WTS did NOT disfellowship: Manuel Beliz and Paul Berry, just to name two. The abusers can and do remain members in good standing with their supporters probably visiting them in jail.
