  WARNING deeply philosophical...Have you ever wondered...

  our home galaxy contains up to 1 billion stars...our universe contains over 50 billion galaxies with billions of stars...why here would god take his stand...send his god son to deliver us...a big galaxy with a nondiscript star with a few planets and we are the center of gods attention...makes you wonder....sometimes...

  Why not consider that perhaps "God" is not separate from us, or from the universe as a whole.

  Our planet is just one of many planets whose inhabitants are all evolving (at their own particular pace). God and the universe itself is evolving together.

  Maybe Jesus was gods Son in the sense that he was able to let gods light shine through him more than others at the time. He inspired the human race to further spiritual development (if they had only listened to his actual message).

  As beings who are connected to all things, all things are available to us.

  dad, .

  i doubt youll even read this letter since it comes from your son, a son youve abandoned over your religious views, but i wanted to write you one final letter to see if theres any hope that you can come to your senses as far as this religion goes and we can renew our relationship.

  im doing this because i care for you and mom deeply and feel very much distressed that you two refuse to see anyones opinion as being factual other than your own when it concerns the jw religion.

  I was going to suggest perhaps a less harsh approach, until I read that he has corresponded before and you've gotten nowhere.

  I take it that the softly softly approach did no good.

  I really feel for you. Its a horrid situation to be in. You did set him straight on the abandoning Jehovah thing. You didn't abandon Jehovah, you abandoned lying men. There is a big difference.

  GOOD FOR YOU!

  Its important for you to express these things. I really hope he responds.

  Only one error I can see - 67%of those raised in the JWs leave. Not 67% of all JWs.

  3 a.m. - my wife is in tears! What do I do?

  well my situation has developed a bit, any advice appreciated.. their has been a gradual building up of pressure ever since i stood down as an elder about 6 months ago.. i have been telling my wife about my doubts but have continued to attend "some" meetings.. as time has progressed i have become more open with my criticism of the org.. i mentioned the un scandal, molestation trials, false prophecy ect etc.. interestingly she does not deny these facts and yet still wants to continue as a jw.. i told her that god is not happy with people knowingly being part of a false prophet (deut 18 - etc) - starting to lay the groundwork for my exit.. she appreciates the difficult situation doubters are in - they cannot openly express their feelings for fear of jcs.. anyway, a few weeks ago we moved house which meant changing congregation.. but i felt it would be best if i did not attend meetings " at all" at the new cong so my fade could be easier.. but i could not have predicted my wifes response - when i told her it was an explosion of emotion, i mean real heartbreaker stuff.. she seems depressed at the prospect, perhaps the reality is finally hitting home.. last night, about 3a.m.

  i noticed that she was not in bed.

  i went downstairs and she was sobbing away to herself.. "i can't go to that hall myself!

  Scotsman,

  I would suggest talking to her in depth and restating your feelings very clearly.

  You might come to an agreement with her that you do attend for a while, just to help her, but at least she won't be under any illusions that you'll always attend. Tell her your intention of stopping attending and tell her exactly why.

  I can understand her feelings of abandonment because you've only just moved and its a big deal to start up in a new congregation. She needs your support.

  In my opinion I don't think its a good idea to "force" her to stop attending by not helping her. I think this would produce resentment in her and problems in the relationship. She wouldn't know what to do with herself or how to behave without attending. She needs to reach the decision herself.

  Has anyone disassociated themselves in public at the KH?

  i read of someone on this site that gave a public talk and disassociated himself at the end of the talk.

  has anyone here da'd by giving a comment at a meeting?????.

  it would be kinda cool with the big generation light coming up to just raise my hand, say i don't believe it, and be done with it.
