  What's Fun in Boston?

  any travel advice from boston natives or people who know the area well?

  i will be flying into boston on my way to a cabin in maine at the end of august, and my schedule allows me the flexibility to either fly in and drive to maine immediately, or spend a day or two in the boston area.

  what is a must see/must do in the boston area?

  What would it take for the JWs to spell "Jehovah's Witness" correctly on Facebook?!?

  i mean, come on.. it's a damn religion that you would die for.. you call yourself a "minister".. and i bet you believe that you could debate like, a harvard-educated theologian under the table or something.... .

  so, jwn-ers, how many "jehova witness", "jehova witneses", or "jehovas' witness"es are you friends with on fb?.

  any other unique spellings i missed?.

  minnesota rep. michele bachmann won a test vote of iowans on saturday, a show of strength five months before the state's caucuses kick off the gop presidential nominating season.. the result is the first indication of what iowans think of the field of republicans competing for the chance to challenge president barack obama next fall.

  but it's hardly predictive of who will win the winter iowa contest, much less the party nod or the white house.. well... there goes the neighborhood....

  he just has lapses in history like France saving our asses 230 years ago.

  I agree with you that he's wrong; I just suspect if pressed he say they were wrong to help us back then, lol. It's a most unworkable, impractical philosophy. But at least if he got the Republican nod, the national discussion would be from a center/center-left perspective, rather than a center-right/faaaaar-right perspective.

  Ron Paul has got to be the closet to a tied up crazy uncle in the basement that we have running for President on the GOP side and that's saying a lot

  whoa there fellow Dem :).. I'm no fan of Libertarian thought, but Ron Paul at least has a fairly coherent thought process. I'd put him along with John Huntsman and Mitt Romney as the only ones in the sane wing of the Republican field right now. I can't believe I just said that about two Mormons and a Libertarian, lol.

  there is a distinction and a difference between what is only a potential in contrast to what is an actual.. confusing the two leads to false choices and needless crisis of conscience.. .

  let us examine on a very definite basis what and why these two terms are so confused.. look at a stack of bricks and lumber.

  no.. a house is an actual.

  when i was a jw, the key issue that caused me to doubt the wt was the trinity.

  the wtb&ts's blatent misquotations and misrepresentations of religious scholarship to fit their anti-trinitarian presuppositions are horrid and inexcusable.

  that issue, however, was not the issue that caused me to become a christian.

After a decade teaching philosophy of religion at the University of Houston, during which time he founded the philosophy of religion journal Philo and published over twenty books and articles in the field, Parsons hung up his hat on September 1:
  
  I have to confess that I now regard “the case for theism” as a fraud and I can no longer take it seriously enough to present it to a class as a respectable philosophical position—no more than I could present intelligent design as a legitimate biological theory. BTW, in saying that I now consider the case for theism to be a fraud, I do not mean to charge that the people making that case are frauds who aim to fool us with claims they know to be empty. No, theistic philosophers and apologists are almost painfully earnest and honest... I just cannot take their arguments seriously any more, and if you cannot take something seriously, you should not try to devote serious academic attention to it.

  Great advice, NC. Also, talk to your doctor; he/she may be willing to have-your-back, as it were, if they know that you plan to be w/o insurance for a six month period. Doctors get a lot of sample medications.
