Well then TR, I'll suggest you get your mind right about this matter. What exactly is it if a stranger talks to your kids? You gonna come up and be a tough guy, simply because a stranger talks to your kids?
You should be grateful. This world needs more, not less, kind strangers. I think Jesus called them neighbors, and whether he existed or not, neighborly behavior is still a good thing. In fact, a necessary thing. I'm sorry, but I reserve my right as a human to interact with children, and if you aren't a pedophile, I believe in your right to interact with children as well. In fact, interaction with kind adults is an important part of being a healthy kid/human.

yes, I NEVER spoke to a child who was alone in the yard playing, about the 'good news' or any other frickin thing. It's incredibly STUPID and THOUGHTLESS to talk to little kids like that.

For all of Luvs dubs inference, while we all know the problems the structure of the organization has with regards to pedophilia, I haven't heard of a single case involving witnessing. The reason for that of course is that the vast majority of pedophiles prey on people they know.

It's funny, I went to this gathering on Sunday, and for the most part, people were very happy to see me. I am probably pushing my luck, as one of the elders, actually a very good guy, said, "we need to talk soon". He alluded knowingly to some changes the CO had just made, as if, "your right to have been discouraged, but it will be better now". Of course, the CO just "had" to make the changes cuz the hours were so low.
In a wierd way, the fact that the congregation at large realizes that our congo has been in a major slump, and is just basically a downer, may have made it much easier for me to fade away. Of course, my happy demeanor at witness parties is pushing my luck. But what can I say? Freedom puts a smile on your face!

Yes, I have a daughter.
I think you have forgotten a bit. You were once one of these dubs. You were not evil, I hope. I just went to a gathering full of dubs. They were not an evil bunch. By and large, children are safe from them.
One other thing to note: there are no charges to be pressed. You may not like it, but it is not illegal, and that happens to be a good thing.
Sane decent rational people KNOW that you don't engage little kids in conversation unless a parent is nearby.
Hmmmm, I'm a decent, rational, and quite sane person, and I know nothing of the sort. In fact, I think it is insane of you to make that statement. Actually, I think you just didn't think about what you were really saying. I'll fight to the death for humanity to stay human, even in these trying times. Sane, decent, rational people not being able to talk to children is no humanity at all. It would be an imitation of life.
As I said in my first post, I think Wits should be careful not to bypass parents. But as I pointed out, only good could come to this womans family from her experience, if she indeed wants good to come from it (as opposed to just bitching about it).
I allow my daughter to go to the Kingdom Hall with her grandmother several times a week. I am not a bit worried that the "truth" will win out over the truth. She will be just fine, because I will give her access to the truth.
