Angus Stewart calls the JW religion a captive organization
by oppostate inif you watched the questioning of terrence o'brien by angus stewart at day 7 part 3 on youtube--thanks so much for uploading these videos--you'll see that mr. stewart puts quite clearly to brother o'brien that the jw 0rganization is a "captive organization".. he makes this reference regarding the practice of da/df'ing and shunning, which he mentions is the one thing that makes ex-jw's the most angry.
because insisting on shunning ex-members causes psychological trauma and separates people from their family, friends and their community of support; therefore, they are held captive by the organization if they don't want to lose those most dear to them.. i believe angus stewart is to be commended for seeing clearly what the wt/jw religion is truly like in practice, and it isn't pretty.. the term "captive organization" is usually used in finance to mean a business front, a legal veil that shields the parent company from liability and having to make big insurance payouts.
for example if the australian branch gets sued and loses, the "wt australia" corporation will pay the amount awarded by the judge to the complainant.

I emailed Angus and got a reply back too...if only every person had this attitude the WT would be in trouble...that Dr Applegate needs to take a long hard look at herself! -

Geoffrey Jackson. Seems he will be compelled to front up.
by umbertoecho inpray for brother jackson of the governing body!.
in todays news from australia it appears that, despite his previous declination to appear when invited, justice mcclellan from the australian royal commission on child sex abuse will officially summon brother geoffrey jackson to the stand after all.. ..... the commission was due to conclude its hearings into the jehovahs witnesses on wednesday but justice mcclellan said he will now call geoffrey jackson, a senior member of the churchs governing body in new york who is currently in australia, to appear next week.. .

I just can't see him or any GB being hauled up in front of whatever court there is....they just won't do that and would rather pay millions instead of answering questions on their policies. -

Scottish Convention Revelation!
by The Searcher insome circuit overseer gave a talk and made this statement - "jehovah will very soon resurrect millions of people.....".
"soon" is so old hat now - "very soon" will become the new buzz words in j.w.-land..

Was that Steve Taylor or Andrew Hine that said that? Andrew Hine is notorious for saying the new system is literally here -

Yeah Sanderson gave the Friday afternoon talk about inactive JWs - I was having a snooze. His talks are being relayed to other UK conventions happening this weekend.
That's interesting notsurewheretogo - I haven't heard anyone openly discussing the protester, but it was mentioned to attendants early in the morning.
Is your friend with the G4S Hydro staff or just the regular JW bouncers? I can imagine the G4S folks would probably be less concerned about a crazy protester as they probably consider all the JWs a bit crazy.Ironically the guy next to me was snoozing through his talk! My friend is a JW bouncer guarding Mark Sanderson...the guy with the beard was pretty much stalked by 2 heavies...

Angus Stewart said it was a "captive organisation" in reference to abuse...a person who has been abused by a JW but wants to leave cannot do so without massive consequences of losing family/friends/support thus they are held "captive" in the organisation that they don't want to be in and may have to face their abuser.
Angus sees it exactly as it is, it is inhuman.

"Is your life really any better since stopping association with JW's?"...Yes out loud I said to the surprise of those seated next to me...............
That's freaking hilariousWell it is true but JW's think you end up suicidal when you leave...even my still-in wife comments how happier and relaxed I am...THAT is the answer to Mr GB's question...although when Mark said there may be inactive ones in the audience who need encouragement I felt 100 eyes on me...I'm like "I choose to be inactive for very definite reasons so leave me alone! I have not drifted"!

Is that this weekend? Damn I could have come and support the apostate army if I had known! Since I only live 26 miles away!
Lol not sure about an "army" as there may only be me and The Searcher..but yeah today was the first day...my friend works in security and I'm gonna try and get a few words with Mark Sanderson, mostly about the Royal Commission in Australia if I'm being honest...

Wow. They believe in faith healing now do they?
I kid you not that is what happened...on the morning talk on prayer...I wad rather miffed at it because it generally makes people wonder why Jehoover doesn't cure their illness and they then get depressed...the experience was the person had a medical issue, she prayed when she couldn't take anymore and then ALL her medical issue cleared up and she thanked Jehoover.
My wife caught me shaking my head at this bit.
Then there was Mark Sanderson talk on returning to Jehoover when you are inactive and he asked a rhetorical question to those inactive, "Is your life really any better since stopping association with JW's?"...Yes out loud I said to the surprise of those seated next to me and my wife's annoyed look...hehe...he did ask.
