  Royal Commission taking our emails to heart

  during the proceedings of australian royal commission, as many of you, i also took time to share with the office of mr stewart, my thoughts and perspective on what what being said and not said by the witness elders on the stand.

  within a day a received a reply from office of angus stewart thanking and appreciating the insight from those on the "inside".

  yesterday i received a further email that my correspondence was passed on to case study 29 (jehovah's witnesses) team for their consideration.. it sounds like they are taking all our collective experience and knowledge into account as the commission continues its work..

  I too sent an email thanking Angus Stewart, I gave him no info, just appreciation for his methods and preparation...I told him if he ever visited the UK he would have a fair few friends to call on...

  Like others he too personally replied thanking me for my kind words.

  Could the Independent Inquiry in England and Wales expose jw.org's child abuse failures? And how can we help?

  with all the talk about the org's policies and failures regarding child sexual abuse being publically exposed in australia, i thought that it may be a good time to highlight this... i apologise if this has already been discussed, but on the 9th of july the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse in england and wales was opened.

  Ditto. On more than one occasion too. The last one was a complete pig. He used to march around with his nose in the air.

  I, much happily, found some dirt on our COBE and I confronted him with it...a month later he moved congregations. I made sure the dirt went with him...he was not reappointed an elder...although I understand he is now...sadly.

  Yes but only to ask them back to return to meetings so they can prove their repentance and any study must be approved by the body of elders that the elder does this with the DF dub.

  This anointed elder I presume did not do that, he was simply studying with him, a form of spiritual association.

  But you are right, the bigger bullies always win, I was part of a body with a COBE that was so full of himself it was unbelievable. I challenged him on many an occasion...

  What woke you up?

  in march of 2014, i was a very active jw, a ministerial servant, gave a public talk, was an attendant for the memorial, and one of 4 cleaning captains for an international convention of 40,000+ attendees.

  so what woke me up?

  an innocent comment from a co-worker about the candice conti court case rang a bell that could not be unrung.

  Destruction of Jerusalem being 586/587 rather than 607...destroys everything as 1914 is the foundation for modern day dubs...once you prove to yourself it was not in 607 then the whole house of cards comes tumbling down.

  If those 7 guys in the GB are not being directed by any god then it's all just their interpretation and it is amazing how much of the JW doctrine is based on having trust that they are chosen.

  Forgot to add at the bottom thus just associating with a DF person will not qualify being disfellowhsipped yourself unless you speak out about the disfellowshipping or you engage in spiritual associating with them...which the OP that mentions the anointed brother was in fact actually doing.

  Partly true.
  First, like you said, you get privileges removed as a warning... if it keeps happening, then you get private reproof... then public reproof... then you're disfellowshipped.
  You were an elder, you should know this.

  Agree it is partly true, only because there is elder discretion here.

  You could get disfellowshipped for it if the elders pursue the only charge that relates to this which would be "Brazen Conduct" and only if they were either critical of the disfellowshipping or were having spiritual association in the form of worship.

  In my experience I counselled many dubs on associating with DF ones, some repeatedly over many years but we never disfellowshipped them for it.

  The elders hand book states on page 116 paragraph 6:

  If members of the congregation are known to have undue association with disfellowshipped or disassociated relatives who are not in the household elders should counsel and reason with those members of the congregation from the Scriptures.

  Review with them information from the "God's Love book, pages 207-208; The Watchtower of April 151 1988, pages 26-30; or the article "Display Christian Loyalty When a Relative Is Disfellowshipped in the August 2002 Our Kingdom Ministry.

  If it is clear that a Christian is violating the spirit of the disfellowshipping decree in this regard and does not respond to counsel, it may be that he would not qualify for congregation privileges, which require one to be exemplary.

  He would not be dealt with judically unless there is persistent spiritual association or he openly criticizes the disfellowshipping decision.

  You can't get DF for associating with another DF person, just any privileges you have are removed.
