whenever there is a closed society with an inherent power imbalance, the potential for abuse is there,” said the labour mp sarah champion.. she said she would be raising the issue in parliament and demanding that the government take actionto make sure all children were safe.. alex chalk, the conservative mp for cheltenham, said he planned to raise the issue in parliament, saying it was not just an historical issue but an ongoing child safety concern.. “my instinctive thoughts are that the sheer numbers and seriousness of the allegations coming forward is concerning ... if even half the allegations coming to light are true then it’s clear that an entrenched culture of cover-up and flawed in-house investigations continues to this day,” chalk said.. champion said she was concerned that victims had to report their abuse to elders, without independent scrutiny.. she also expressed concern that abuse claims can only be taken before a committee for investigation if there were two witnesses to it.

Sometimes reference is made to certain quotes and readers then think 'how can a quote be a rumor?' A quote can be taken out of context. Critical reports often only give part of a matter and leave out other aspects. Often such rumors play on the emotions.

The whole thing falls down with one simple fact proved beyond doubt...
The destruction of Jerusalem by Babylon was NOT in 607 BCE.
The very fact the WT used to teach it was 606 BCE until they realized that there was no zero year in between 1 BCE and 1 CE shows it is made up because they changed the start date of their prophecy, something set in stone in the past and documented by thousands of sources compared to changing the end date of their prophecy...something invisible.
We can all go into the crux of it but there is zero evidence anywhere that 607 BCE was the year Jerusalem was destroyed.

WTBTS – assistance following an incident at bethel
by Tallon ini haven’t posted for quite a while as i needed a break – although i have been lurking.. can anyone confirm if the wtbts give assistance to someone who has been involved in an incident whilst working at bethel and, as a result, must leave?.
the reason i’m asking is that, back in the 80’s, i knew a sister who was in bethel service.
she was assigned to the cleaning department.

if you haven't watched it, be prepared for some really disturbing stuff, especially as they address children, and guilt them into jw activity.

this was on the front page of freep.com this morning - sadly there are some factual errors in this article that people will jump on (not allowed to go to college was in original article for instance - hopefully the reporter will correct it).
interesting reading the comments below the article - all kinds of opinions.

For the loud and clear record, the urge to kill other people is an identifiable criterion of NO recognized mental health disorder.
What a ridiculous statement....well of course not the URGE to kill is not a criteria of mental health disorder but it is clear murder/manslaughter or suicide, when investigated, has a high percentage of mental health issues are involved.
Speaking from experience...

I have to say....
Whilst being a shunned ex-JW certainly contributed to her mental state a person who kills all their family has severe issues beyond being shunned.
The media will pick up her friend and the women being an ex-JW but you can't blame everything on that...it is just a factor...otherwise loads of us ex-JW's would be doing this.
It is a heart breaking story...such a lovely family...all wiped out by a women with mental illness...certainly fueled by being shunned.
With the growth of mental illness shunning should be outlawed as against human rights.
Nothing is worth more than human life.

watchtower 15/10/15 p.3 states that helpers are of the great crowd.

Having met most of the GB in the 1990's and 2000's and knew John Barr quite well I am convinced GB 1.0 were "Captives to a Concept" in that they believed 100% what they were doing was "the truth" hence why they kept in the background.
Conversely...whilst I am out and "see" GB 2.0 I am fairly convinced the majority of these are NOT like the GB of old and most, the majority, know that there are fundamental issues with their doctrines about "the end" and know there will be no end in their life time.
Jackson, Morris, Sanderson, Lett etc are in this bracket in my opinion.
The GB 2.0 are fundamentally different to the GB 1.0 of old and with that comes the belief that they are doing what is right...I think most on the GB 2.0 know some of it is bull.
So it will only be expected to see the same type of people appointed to the GB...either through copying the GB 2.0 or by being persuaded by the GB 2.0 that they qualify.
