The coup against Tony Morris in order to make major changes?
by Badfish init’s been a long time since i’ve kept up with anything jw-related.
but just a couple days ago, i heard about all the new changes—beards, shunning, etc.
i was surprised, so i asked an old friend who i hadn’t spoken to in ages what happened.

But this is the the issue with AM3. Let's say like all GB members he is full in mentally, that he believes as well as the other GB members that Jehovah is working through them.
How is AM3 and the other GB members now thinking giving a clear difference of opinion? The GB members may just cite AM3 imperfections but how does AM3 view the GB? How does he put the square object through the circle peg that Jehovah is directing things through them when he got kicked off?
A chat with AM3 would be real interesting.

Beards vs. Shunning announcements
by slimboyfat induring lett’s announcement that beards are now allowed he elaborated at some length how brothers ought to feel and react to the change in policy.
he warned brothers not to resent not being able to grow beards earlier if they had wished to do so.
he also warned brothers who supported the old policy not to allow themselves to wonder what the point of doing so was now that it has changed.

Have you seen that happen? How did the elder handle it?
I did see a sister run out the hall crying when her daughter was disfellowshipped, but not during a Watchtower.I read about another “funny” case, if you can call it that, where the announcements were being handled by an older brother who was not on top of things and he mixed up names and announced that a regular pioneer sister had been disfellowshipped by mistake. That pioneer sister ran out the hall crying and the elders had to apologise.
Yup, seen families sit through an item on not having any contact with DF family and the elder just runs through the script whilst the family are howling in tears.
Very painful to be in the audience but the elder just stuck to the script.

An elder told me that blatant DF offences that 90 days doesn't apply thus you can't just screw around, repent and get reinstated after 90 days.
Supposedly more direction was given to elders.

Explain the Anthony Morris thing to me
by optimisticskeptic inok, so can someone explain with relative brevity what the anthony morris thing is all about.
i certainly don't miss the guy but would like as valid of an explanation as possible without a bunch of paranoid conspiracies that no one can verify.
as best as i can tell from cryptic comments on here is he is no longer on the gb but in a congregation in the carolinas somewhere.

The curent changes are made months ahead.
Not sure the DF changes were made months ago, they relate to the Norway case for sure.

GB Update #2, March 2024: Women allowed to wear pants, no ties/coats required if not giving a talk, & now able to greet DF ones in the KH!
by WingCommander inyou heard me correct, this is not a joke, and it is not april fools day!
the asl portion of the governing body updated #2 (march 2024) has been released a bit early and someone caught it.

and it is properly explained then I doubt that is enough of a change to reverse the decision in Norway.
I think it will because legally they are not 100% shunned and the minor who is baptised no longer has a JC. It's all about the legality of it nothing to do with common sense or practicality.

I meant "big" as in a huge change to the DF policy...at the moment you can't 100% talk to a DF person but the new change simply allows you to say "hello" at the KH or to say "please come to the meeting" and nothing else.
The fact they are changing is significant yes but the actual changes to a DF person is small. A DF person still loses all meaningful contact with family and friends.

Who really is the Faithful and Discreet Slave? The recent changes and the Governing Body's 10 year plan
by redsetter2 ini am sure we were all shocked at the governing body update #2 with the unusual and impulsive changes set forth.. i am an insider at whq, and when i was on reddit and in communication with avoidjw i explained to the best of my ability that the approach on disfellowshipping was going to change based on the new light at the 2023 agm, that the jubilee rumor was false, and there were going to be changes on how jws approached disfellowshipping in response to the norway situation if it didn't turn out in watchtower's favor.
the decision came because of a legal blow to watchtower, not because "holy spirit" wad directing a faithful slave, who is going to become the "evil slave", more explanation on this soon.. everything i stated came true.
i left reddit exjw community due to the immature and mentally unstable nature there, and yet as has been the case my words came true.

private consensual intimacy and sex between adults of the opposite sex will be a conscience matter, as long as vaginal sex and pregnancy is not involved
So they will allow this with non-married people....
Blood transfusions will not be considered a conscience matter, in fact it will be back to how it used to be, instead they will reverse their opinions on using transfusion alternatives with blood fractions.
I doubt this very much.
The Faithful Slave will soon refer to all Christians "taking the lead" in the Organization, not referring to solely anointed Christians. The Evil Slave may refer to the Governing Body of today in the event legal issues cause them to completely disband. Otherwise, the evil slave will simply refer to wicked men who manage to take the lead in Jehovah's Organization today.
The GB take away their own power?
Dude...what you been smoking? This is all utter BS.

The new change isn't that big...JW's can talk (say hello only) to those at the KH if DF'd and can also talk to their families if DF's only to invite them back to meetings.
JW's still can't talk to these ones at any other time or situation.
The change simply means from a legal perspective they are not 100% shunning people and if ever another "Norway" situation appears the JW's can cite the changes and legally it will be fine.
If these new changes were in place for the Norway trial the JW's would have won. I expect an appeal on this basis.
