Evidence for this type of thing has to come from the "majority" and that is your experience was just that, your experience and not something that proves anything supernatural.

The evidence of the "majority" shows this life is all there is..you ar ewelcome to believe something else but it is not based on "fact".

How can you tell whatever experience you had was in fact "real"? Might it be "real" in your mind only?

In the history of human history there has been zero evidence of spirits and the spirit world...there was even a million bucks on offer to prove it and no-one collected it.

I know people who have had spirit experience yet it is not proof...it may have been a dream, it may have been mental illness etc but it was not real at all.

There is no spirit work or spirits because there has been zero proof to say there is in human history.

You can't use your experiences as proof...as they may have been real to you when in fact they are not real.

Do they officially give marking talks without telling the one marked?

my pimi (physically in, mentally in) friend believes she was marked without them telling her.

i believe her, and she has been making work for the elders.

she is a pain in their arse, and they are a pain in hers, which is great.

They never have told the person being marked that they are going to be marked from a policy point of view...they are not supposed to.

They just give a talk and the person being marked is supposed to repent, others who know the situation then shun the one they know is marked and others if they have no clue just carry on as normal but if they learn of whatever wrong conduct was mentioned they then shun the person doing the wrong conduct.

New Light

am i the only one who can't reconcile new light with the light gets brighter?

But the light is not getting brighter if you follow the JW idea behind it...CT RUssell said that new light would come but would not extinguish old light...it would not replace it...hence adding two candles to a dark room makes it brighter than one as new light enhances the old light.

But what we have in JW land is new light replacing old light...one candle is blown out and another lit...the room does not get brighter if you do this.

Overlapping generations REPLACES the literal generation idea...the literal generation is "blown out" replaced by an overlapping one.

Therefore, CT Russels idea of "new light" is wildly different to what JW's proclaim as new light today and that new idea fails to explain how things are getting "brighter".

Can someone tell me why Joan's ark and the flood not true and impossible?

i have a question and i hope i'm not confusing this with something else i heard.

while watching ex jw videos on youtube many of them talk about how noah's ark and the flood didn't happen and it's impossible.

as it's highly unlikely i'll ever go to warwick, i found lloyd evans latest video fascinating.

i had no idea that the whole 'museum' (if you can call it that) was so big.

Good point...but...these people are watching his videos whilst "still in"? meaning they must already be on the fence so to speak otherwise there JW voice would say this is wrong to watch.

In the past when Cedars was more neutral you COULD watch his videos WHILST being 100% in because I did...and it was a factor in me getting out.

BUT he has drastically changed his website and where he is going with his activism...fair enough but it won't take someone who is in to then come out...I firmly believe if he stuck to being more neutral like Paul Grundy at jwfacts.com that you can then win over still-ins.

But yeah he has to advertise himself if he wants to live off for sure...my point is over the 6 years I've been out it appears to me that his goal is himself first...but that is just my opinion.

The real thing is whatever gets people out I'm all for...if people like his videos...great...I do not with some of them based on his previous dealings.

Sadly for me all I can see is Cedars' ego in that video...I can't watch any more of his...its all about him...he wants to the biggest exjw person and wants to live off it rather than work.

Nothing wrong with that but I see through his work and see the real motivation behind his work...I'm in no way convinced he is doing it just to help others see the folly of the WT...he's in it for himself.

Many disagree with this, fair enough...but the opening sequence of this video is all about Cedar's...he then pushes the whole paetron thing thanking people handing over the cash so he can buy equipment and visit Warwick.

I just don't like...my opinion and others disagree...he has made fine videos but something I have said in the past when his videos were more neutral when he was "faded" they were far better...now they appear from the point of view of an apostate since he DA'd himself...any still in JW's will not watch any video of his that are rebuttals of the JW broadcasts but they would have had he remained more neutral.

But that is the direction he wants to go...I like some of his videos but he is not my cup of tea.

Why the move to Warwick?

i've seen a lot of posts around and about warwick and the goings on there but was curious as to people's theories on why the move to warwick?

granted there's the obvious point about all of the money from the sale of properties in brooklyn but for as massive as warwick is, the purchase of an apartment complex there, multiple sites and buildings i would be surprised if they had much left from all of the profits.

so beyond a financial incentive why move?

Warwick cost $200 million...

Simple math...they pocketed $800 million.

many people point to the irrationality in the depiction of god by the religions and their scriptures, hence jump into the bottomless pit of atheism.

in either camp, god is not a factor because religion is only a means that misrepresents god, hence religionists themselves are atheists (literally, those who live without god).

it is like saying there exists no earth because you found out your friend who taught earth is flat is wrong; or it is like saying mathematics itself is wrong because you found out your mathematics teacher made a mistake.
