i am writing this to inform the people of chilliwack of a plague that seems to affect well-groomed, articulate individuals living in our fair city.. many months ago we posted a sign on our front door that says "no soliciting' due to the fact that the sanctity of our home was constantly being invaded by individuals seeking to save us, sell us something or wanting money or some kind of donation.

It seems funny to me how the Society has relaxed the whole Soliciting thing over the years. Didn't they used to go to jail over this?

Now in my development, they obey the postings. What changed?

4.) Yes. They have to to survive and grow. They are already in the process of changing views on College, sports, etc. They have already started relaxing their stances on blood and shunning.

Things to do when they come knocking

i encourage people not to either verbally or physically harass jws when they come knocking on the door.. saying this, i recognize that it is ever so tempting to try the following:.

1) answering the door wearing a t-shirt with a logo such as "satan rules", "member of the evil slave class", and "1914, 1918, 1925, 1975, what's next?".

2) answering the door wearing only underwear (or less).. 3) dropping a name of some governing body member and suggesting that you got to know him when he and you were in jail together, and then ask if they know if he's stopped some particular filthy habit.. 4) answering the door while brandishing a pitchfork.. 5) say that you're so glad they came and that it's good for people to have an open mind about their religion and to be willing to change; once you get them excited with this, show them a copy of the wtbts failed prophecy list (backed by quotes from their own literature) and ask if they are open minded as well.. 6) as most jws have never looked at a copy of _studies in the scriptures_, tell them that you've gotten many of your religious beliefs by pyramidology; then show them a copy of _sits_ and point to the wtbts copyright notice.. i have #5 and #6 ready for the next visit.

Would you keep witnessing

if the society (jehovah for some witnesses) changed their mind and said door to door witnessing was no longer compulsary but entirely up to you, would you still go witnessing.. ;-)

if your daughter came home pregnant and claimed it was an imaculate conception, would you believe her?.

why do you believe in the other virgin birth?.

the bible story of the lost sheep is something we have heard from childhood and it is usually told in the context of the great love shown by the good shepherd, we find it in luke:.

what man of you with a hundred sheep, on losing one of them, will not leave the ninety-nine behind in the wilderness and go for the lost one until he finds it?
