"Straining the gnat, and gulping the camel"
by stuckinarut2 inwhile watching the annual meeting videos on the official jw channel, i was struck with this scriptural expression:.
"they strain out the gnat, while gulping the camel" matt 23:24. this section was full of condemnation for the wicked religious leaders who were focusing on minor silly things rather than deep important topics.. the amount of silly things the gb focuses on is amazing!
they pedantically focus on things like proper pronunciation of words, (such as s lett joking about how isiah is best said), while missing major issues and topics like the proper handling of child abuse issues, or the court cases being lost worldwide!.

an appreciative shout out to all the people who worked tirelessly over so very many, many years to call the organization to account over its defiantly self-serving policies and practices on responding top allegations of child sexual abuse.

But see, it shows a mature sister sitting in with the Elder, but do we have any kind of confirmation that they actually changed that policy? Or is that just window-dressing like usual with these people? Until I see a letter to the Body of Elders or they reissue Shepherd, I'm going to assume Sisters still can't sit in on that. Besides, the arc told them to let Sisters talk to Sisters, not a sister and a brother. I'm not mad at the OP, it's just how long does it take these people to understand the obvious?

i always thought the amount of blood is not the real issue, even a drop would be a sin?.

The Watchtower study conductors genuinely impressed me with how they spoke and dressed and carried themselves, they came across as charismatic and kind and pretty quick with an answer to anything. The other Elders, not so much. Most came across as ordinary men, some seemed pleasant enough, some gave off a kinda... petty, arrogant vibe, I don't know how else to put it.

TobyJones, yeah I think that is the official doctrine right now, there's going to be a cry of peace and security, the governments decide religion's dangerous and they got to get rid of it, they go after religious people and organizations, Jehovah's Witnesses manage to survive somehow (maybe underground kind of like in those bizarre bunker videos from 2016) they come for them last, Jehovah intervenes and slaughters them, voila, paradise!
