You just feel like chatting tonight, Catcher in the Rye? I'm doing alright, drawing a little, working on a paper.

Climate Change - True Believer or Skeptic?
by Simon inclimate change ... who doesn't believe it?
crazy fools and science deniers ... right?.
it seems like it's become the new religion, the new orthodoxy, that must be accepted and believed as gospel and preached to all.. is it ok to be skeptical?.

You and me don't disagree on that Simon, the rich hardly ever pay for their mistakes because the rich run everything, the government, the courts, even the environmental agencies. It's not a matter of whether they believe it or not, it's a matter of whether they intend to do anything about it. I'm with you on that, they don't care, but they want the rest of us to care because then they don't have to foot the bill.

Oh I'm all for taxing the rich, they're the ones who fucked up the environment to begin with, they should pay to fix it. If that's what it comes down to and they start trying to make the rest of us pay to clean up their mess, I aint down for that.

Problems that exist with the Australian Redress Scheme for Victims of Child Sexual Abuse. As it stands now.
by smiddy3 ini was listening to an overnight abc radio broadcast with rod quin ?in the early hours of the morning 14/3/19.
and with him was a guest of the labour party of newcastle nsw ,sorry her name escapes me.. and some issues were raised that i never knew of, that survivors might have .hopefully i can articulate them here as i understand it.
and remember it ....we all know the trauma that a child will go through with being abused and some will go off the rails because of that and commit some crimes of their own maybe in their teen years .. anybody who has committed a crime and spent time in jail can not take part in the redress scheme.

Pick a figure per victim, give the organization six months to respond, and when they inevitably don't pay out, liquidate the organization's Australian assets to that amount and distribute it between the victims. These people don't care about kids and they've made that abundantly clear. Fuck the Governing Body and fuck their empty words about 'abhoring child abuse.' You know a tree by its fruit.

As a researcher, I give the benefit of the doubt to other researchers. That's all it comes down to. I looked at their data, their data looks good. Worst case scenario, reducing pollution, recycling more, that kind of thing benefits us in the long run anyway.

It's not so much others they worry about women criticizing, but the men who Lord it over them: Elders, Cos, and most importantly, the Governing Body. Men like that criticize Jehovah's Witnesses all the time, but it's fine for them: do more they say, better preach or you're blood guilty, dont challemge the channel, etc. Just another example of how you can't take much of this organization's writings at face value, there's always a subtext to read into.

Jws don't really have "communities" or "functions" like churches do?
by nowawake14 ini've noticed how this religion is kind of narrow.
all they ever do is preach, study the watchtower, or their meeting or convention.
no other organized functions that i know of.

It's the most barebones religion I ever heard of, I'm with you 100%. A lot of it c9nes down to paranoia and cost: they don't want to give Witnesses the chance to connect with others in any normal, fun social events they could go to publicly (a jazz concert, a picnic at the park), a lot they rule out because it's holiday-themed, and they don't want to spend any money on the kind of busses or vans a lot of churches purchase to drive members around.

my first post - born in but faded 15 years ago before that i was pimo for a number of years.. to put it bluntly the whole jw religion/thing is a crock of shit.
i sort of figured this out for myself before i faded but reading posts and comments on this forum confirms this.

Hey, welcome aboard. Glad to have you here. We don't get too tasty anymore now do we? I mean it's fun now and then but allies are allies you know? It's so quiet without Morpheus around.

march broadcast about neutrality
by road to nowhere ini notice they commented that "we" should not sympathise with protestors, like the protestors are always right.
sometimes i feel a protest would be a good place for a machine gun, because i do have feelings on different things.
despite their stated neitral stance, the wt is left leaning.

Will the Russian brothers start to wake up?
by nowwhat? inif i was a russian brother i would be wondering what exactly is the gb doing to help us out.
they are sitting in their lakeside corporate country club doing nothing while outside worldly agencies are making known our plight.
i found it puzzling that they flew out of russia like a bat out of hell as soon as the court rendered its decision leaving us high and dry.

You mind saying more about that StillMD? I never heard of an ex-Witness Russian forum.
