  Serving where the need is great or serving where their needs are great?

  have any of you come across this rare breed of jw?.

  i know a brother who spends 9 months of the year living in a caribbean island where he is an active jw and then he flies back to his home european country for 3 months to work and save up so he can fly back out again.

  he is an active jw in his home country.. he's not a missionary and has never been to gilead though he attended pioneer school back in the '90s.

  It gets them serious 'cred' in their home congregation, and I'm guessing it helps get them promotions too since it shows their 'spirituality (commitment).

  Yeah, it's good to call to mind their lies and deflections but we should keep up to date on these things too. These people will not go down without a fight, kicking and screaming that they protect kids and abhor child sex abuse as we bury them in a heap of evidence to the contrary.

  when i post i try to imagine that i am at a social gathering or sometimes in someone's house as a dinner guest.

  that way it is easier to follow the community guidelines and posting rules set out on the site at the bottom of the page.

  i wouldn't want to make a fool of myself in public.

  attended the sad yesterday with my wife.

  bethel speaker flown in to california which made it "special".

  (his talks were infomercial bs, but at least he was a good speaker.

  It's disturbing isn't it, when somebody wants you to do something and won't explain why, it begs the question of why they're doing that in the first place. If they know they can't explain it, and they admit they can't explain it to you, why do they want you to do it?

  The answer being because it serves and ulterior motive beneficial to them.
