They get a monthly stipend of what at Bethel, 200, maybe? He spent half a yearish of his salary on booze... but I doubt that's his money he's spending. Sophia's ice cream money goes a long way.

That's a lot of money he just spent on liquor, I think it speaks volumes about how he sees himself that he drinks top shelf liquor. Don't get me wrong I'm a little jealous, I would love to break open one of those bottles. But I'm not the guy who goes on television and tells other people to simplify their life and work part-time and not store up treasures on earth.
And yeah, it's suspicious to say the least that when he ought to be at a meeting by everything we know about when congregations meet he's buying expensive booze. And correct me if I'm wrong, he drove to a pretty distant liquor store?

Preparing the sheeple for finally abandoning the significance of 1914
by under the radar inwe all know the society would love to get rid of all the problems caused by clinging to 1914 and all they claimed it meant for the last 100+ years.. it looks like they are laying the groundwork for easing away from the whole concept of 1914. this would also let them do away with the ridiculous "overlapping generation" bullcrap.
what a diaper load that has been.... anyway, the following is from their super secret marching orders for april, 2019. draw your own conclusions.... "3.
“100 years of faithfulness”: the coordinator of the body of elders, or another elder, should be invited to read the following special announcement.

Atlantis, thanks for pointing those out.
I reread the letter and now I'm skeptical too. What caught my eye is where it says something about 'ascertain the meaning of prophecies.' Ascertain is a very large word for Watchtower. The rest of it on a second reading also doesn't sound like Watchtower... it's hard to explain why, but I get a different sense from it than I do from letters to the body of Elders, which always comes across like cheery well-polished propaganda, this seems more slapdash, it doesn't flow as nicely from sentence to sentence, it's awkward. And the spelling errors is very unlike Watchtower.

Something different about the memorial invitation
by days of future passed ini found this memorial invitation quite different than the previous ones.
i couldn't find a more recent posting about the invite, so i may be going over old ground.. at first i just looked thru it.
but then on second look, i realized there was more going on than i thought.

The memorial invitation says reach out for the real life. The real life? Try the isolated life of repression resentment shame and fear, filled with indoctrination and worship of the Governing Body.

Right, some people do get good jobs in the writing department, translation, animation and photography, but by the sounds of it most men and women get stuck doing manual (or menial) labor that they're supposed to really appreciate 'cause it's for Jehovah.
It's worth mentioning that in countries on the global south the standard of living at Bethel is probably higher than elsewhere, which explains why people would want to work there. In The Proclaimers book they they published pictures of what baffles worldwide look like back then, some of them look kinda nice, especially for Africa and the Caribbean, where many people live in shantytowns or shacks.

I don't see any difference, maybe I need to read the article, but it sounds like business as usual. They deny ever making prophecies about specific dates, they direct you to their publications, they sing the Governing Body's praises, same old same old.

Actions speak louder than words. The Governing Body could not care less if children get abused, they just want to make sure they look good.

meandering thoughts on the memorial meal study:
by waton inso, its a simple meal, wt trying to deflect away the questions about the elephants in the room.
no record in the bible the apostles celebrating it later, until paul writing about it.
jesus commanding it to be celebrated every year.?

Think about the Watchtower message? The Governing Body spends half it's time telling people not to think.
And I'm with you by the way, their take on the Eucharist is convoluted. It's so weird watching people pass a plate of bread and a cup of wine around the room with nobody eating or drinking.

Today’s bible study, how to blow one of their doctrines using just one verse.
by Crazyguy2 inat the talk today the speaker was bloveating about paradise and how we will need to teach the ones being resurrected gods ways.
ofcourse we all know that the resurrection will start just a few years after the big a so that everyone can be taught the truth and the big j’s ways before satan is released at the end of the thousand years to test everyone after of course they have grown to perfection and then can truly be tested as perfect as adam.
revelations chapter 20 starting in verse 4 thier bible but notice verse 5 ; and i saw thrones and those who sat on them were given authority to judge.

I guess that's the best they can do when the verse so blatantly contradicts their doctrine. *shrug*
